# Anambra State Village Chairmen Forum has endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second tenure to enable him to complete his people-oriented projects for Ndi Anambra.
The members of the Anambra State Village Chairmen Forum, who comprise representatives of over one thousand villages in the state, also used the event of their State Working Committee meeting to endorse the Governor, as well as inaugurate the forum, which came into existence last year.
The Coordinating Chairman, Anambra State Village Chairmen Forum, Hon. Osita Ozalagba, in his remarks, revealed that it was a unanimous agreement among all members of the forum to identify with Governor Soludo and endorse his re-election bid because he has done wonderfully well.
He pointed out that they see it as a civic responsibility of any progressive to ensure that Governor Soludo is returned to office for a second term, even as he appealed to Ndi Anambra to come out on November 8 and cast their votes for Governor Soludo, assuring them that their votes will count.
# Ahead of the November 8th 2025 Governorship poll, eight of the fourteen associations pre-qualified by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register as political parties have successfully completed the upload of all required information and documents on the Commission’s dedicated portal.
The associations are the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), Citizens Democratic Alliance (CDA), Abundance Social Party (ASP), African Alliance Party (AAP), Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA), Green Future Party (GFP), National Democratic Party (NDP) and the Peoples Freedom Party (PFP).
This was disclosed in a statement by National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Mr. Sam Olumekun, mni, following the Commission’s regular meeting held on Thursday, 30th October 2025, in Abuja.
According to Mr. Olumekun, the update follows INEC’s earlier announcement on 11th September 2025 and a subsequent briefing for the 14 pre-qualified associations held on 17th September 2025. After the briefing, the Commission opened its online portal for the upload of necessary documents from 18th September to 18th October 2025 at midnight.
The IVEC Chairman explained that the next stage of the registration process is the detailed assessment and verification of the information and documents submitted by each association to ensure compliance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2022, and the Commission’s Regulations and Guidelines for Political Parties (2022).
# The Young Progressives Party (YPP) Governorship Candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma, in an interactive session with the Former Political Appointees (Class of 2014–2022), extolled their firm commitment to the growth and transformation of Anambra State.
Chukwuma emphasized that their wealth of experience would be a vital asset to his administration, having thoughtfully recognised their value and chosen one among them as his running mate.
In what appeared to be a heartfelt gesture of empathy and acknowledgment of their sacrifices, Sir Paul expressed deep understanding of the circumstances under which they were disengaged from service and assured them that, upon assumption of office on March 17, 2026, his administration would process and release their long-overdue severance packages within three months.
Paul Chukwuma, who emphasized that governance must reflect justice and compassion, reaffirmed his conviction that “a labourer is worthy of his reward” (1 Timothy 5:18).
# The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the accreditation of seventy-six (76) media organisations to cover the Anambra State Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.
In a document signed by the secretary to the Commission, Mrs. Rose Oriaran-Anthony, the accredited organisations comprise over five hundred and eight (508) journalists drawn from broadcast, print, and online media platforms across Nigeria and beyond.
The accreditation, according to INEC, followed the fulfilment of all stipulated requirements by the various organisations.
Distribution of Media Tags to accredited Media organisations will commence at the International Press Centre, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat Complex, behind the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) office in Awka, from Monday, 3rd to Thursday, 6th November 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily.
INEC reminded accredited journalists to strictly adhere to the Code of Conduct for Election Coverage, warning that the Commission reserves the right to withdraw or cancel the accreditation of any media organisation whose representatives violate established guidelines or engage in unprofessional conduct during the election.
# Anaocha Solution Championship for Secondary Schools has ended with Bubendorff Memorial Grammar School, Adazi-Nnukwu defeating Flora Azikiwe Memorial Secondary School, Neni with 2 goals to nothing in male category of football match.
Anaocha Local Government Chairman, Hon. Romanus Ibekwe, in his address at Bubendorff Grammar School field Adazi-Nnukwu, venue of the final match and other sporting events, noted that the championship was to showcase the commitment of his administration to uniting students, discovering and nurturing their talents in sports.
The Mayor urged participants to take advantage of opportunities in sports for their own good and that of the larger society, just as he thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for supporting sports development in the area.
# In a bid to ensure a peaceful, credible, and violence-free governorship election in Anambra State, the flag bearers of political parties participating in the November 8th 2025 polls, has a Peace Accord.
The event which took place at International Conference Centre, Awka, the state capital, was organized under the auspices of the National Peace Committee (NPC) and brought together political leaders, security agencies, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), civil society organizations, and traditional rulers.
The Peace Accord Committee was led by former Head of State, General Abdulsalam Abubakar and Bishop Matthew Kukah.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun emphasized the importance of political tolerance and respect for democratic values, urging all candidates and their supporters to commit genuinely to peace before, during, and after the election.
The IGP reaffirmed the readiness of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to provide adequate security for the election, stressing that the police would remain neutral and professional in the discharge of their duties.
In their separate remarks, the political party candidates pledged to uphold the principles of non-violence, urging their supporters to conduct themselves responsibly and respect the electoral process.
# Dr. Nelson Omenugha, the Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP), paid a surprise visit to the All Stars Football Club Nnobi during their training session at the Community Central School.
In a gesture of goodwill, Dr. Nelson announced the renewal of the football pitch payment for another two years, bringing immense joy to the players and officials.
Dr. Nelson urged the players to vote for All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the forthcoming November 8 gubernatorial election for Governor Soludo’s second term bid, citing the governor’s dedication to improving the lives of Anambra people. He also revealed that he is willing to connect players with job opportunities that match their skills.
# Anambra State Association of Traditional Prime Ministers, “Ndi Ononwu”, has endorsed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for second tenure, and tasked its members in the 179 communities across the State to embark on grassroots mobilization to ensure that the Governor wins convincily in the November 8 gubernatorial election.
Rising from its meeting held at Obi Ndi Onowu at Amawbia, the President of the association and the Traditional Prime Minister of Awka, Chief Benjamin Okoye, who expressed satisfaction with Governor Soludo’s performance in office, maintained that the Governor has through his purposeful leadership endeared himself to Ndi Anambra.
He cautioned the electorate against mortgaging their conscience during next Saturday’s election.
Lending his voice, the Regent and Traditional Prime Minister of Amawbia, Chief Emeka Mmaduka, who described the endorsement as part of ways to appreciate Governor Soludo for all his efforts aimed at restoring public confidence in governance, said that the Soludo government, apart from connecting various communities with road infrastructure, has made functional healthcare available to the people.
