* The Orumba South local government Mayor, Hon. Shedrack Azubuike has promised the people of the council area continued transformation on infrastructural development.
The Council Boss made the promise during his visitation to some of primary schools in the area, stating that education is the bed rock of any society.
Hon. Azubuike stated that, developmental projects which would impact positively on the lives of the people and meet their yearnings and aspirations will be vigorously pursued.
While stating that his administration will make the schools conductive for teachers and pupils, he added that he will always embark on the execution of far-reaching socio-projects with a view of making life more meaningful to the good people of the council area.
* In a continuous Commitment to strengthen the security in the state, the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has continued to sustain the advocacy and security assessment in the twenty-one (21) local government area to enhance collaboration with community leaders, indigenes, residents to improve safety
CP Itam during the interaction with the Stakeholders on Friday, emphasize the importance of community policing and calls for an honest and patriotic involvement in identifying and prioritizing our differences to develop deliberate plans for addressing the problems.
The CP also reiterateinthat the Mondays sit at home has cripple businesses of ndi Anambra, and commits havoc in the State, urging ndi Njikoka to join the Police and other security agencies to take back the space and deny these criminal elements the space they use to cause tension in the State.
In his response, the Chairman of Local Government, Hon Bar. Chinedu Donminc Ononibu pledges to sustain the security advocacy for the indigene/resident of the Local Government.
* Traders at Oye-Agu Market Abagana and Eke Awka market, Awka, erupted in joy, singing solidarity songs for Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, for his free education policy in the state.
The incident happened as the state Chairman, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu took free education sensitization exercise to the areas.
During the exercise termed ,”Catch-And -Send-Them- To-School-For-Free”, Professor Ikediugwu, who was accompanied by officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp, NSCDC, Anambra State Command, and some officials of her commission, rescued some child-hawkers and barrow pushers, after which they were taken to schools around the areas they were caught and registered.
* In a strategic move to bolster communication efforts, former Governorship Aspirant in Anambra, Hon Dr. Onyeka Nwafor has appointed renowned media practitioner, Comrade Uchenna Ezeadigwe as a media spokesperson. This development is expected to enhance the visibility and effectiveness of Nwafor’s endeavours.
Hon Dr. Onyeka Nwafor who disclosed this in a press statement made available to the media and public said “I have appointed Mr Uchenna Michael Ezeadigwe as my Media Spokesperson for my Anambra state Governorship Campaign, 2024/2025.

* The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Maku Olatunde has enjoined newly promoted officers in the state to remain steadfast in their loyalty, discipline, and unwavering commitment to their new roles and responsibilities.
Comdt. Maku gave the charge during the symbolic decoration ceremony held at the State Command Headquarters, Awka.
He extended warm congratulations to the newly promoted officers, whose well-deserved advancement was approved by the Civil Defence, Correctional Fire Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) adding that the promotion was a confirmation of their hard work, loyalty, dedication and commitment to the NSCDC in achieving its statutory core mandates.
* Barrister Chidi Donald Amamgbo has taken a significant step towards contesting the Senate bye-election for Anambra South Senatorial District by obtaining the Labour Party nomination forms.
Amamgbo who was accompanied by his wife, was received at the national secretariate of the party by some members of the National working committee (NWC) of the party ably led by the Deputy National Chairman of the Labour Party, Chief Clement Ojukwu ( Gbazuagu Nnewi)
This move is driven by his commitment to harnessing his vast experience to usher in a new era of development in the zone .
Speaking, Amamgbo said decision to run for the Senate seat is motivated by his desire to address the unique challenges facing Anambra South Senatorial District, which comprises seven local governments: Aguata, Ekwusigo, Ihiala, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Orumba North, and Orumba South.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Special Duties, Rt. Hon. Beverly Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche has empowered three widows who are petty traders with fifty thousand naira each to invest in their businesses or start a new one.
150 widows received bags of rice and cash as early Christmas largesse from the Commissioner during her seasonal get-together with widows in Onitsha South Local Government Area.
Speaking at the event which held at the local government headquarters at Fegge, Onitsha, the wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo who supported the commissioner with bags of rice, commended her for always remembering the downtrodden in the society.
Mrs. Soludo who was represented by the state woman leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Mrs Esther Onyekesi told the widows that Governor Chukwuma Soludo understands the economic hardship in the country and the impact it has on the poor and less privileged, stating that this is why he has initiated policies such free education, free delivery and antenatal service and massive infrastructural development to alleviate the suffering of the poor masses.

Delivering the keynote speech, Dr. Monday Ashibogwu underscored the crucial role of the media as a driver of economic resilience, particularly in times of economic uncertainty as recent events in the Nigerian economy present challenges that affect the livelihood of ordinary citizens.
* The Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA) has held a state-wide parade to express gratitude to the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, for his swift action in the payment of the minimum wage.
During the event, the Managing Director/CEO of ARTMA, Engr. Okonkwo Emeka-Konti, took the opportunity to highlight the Governor’s consistent support for the agency’s operations.
