# Governor Chukwuma Soludo has assured Ogidi people in Idemili North LGA of government intervention in the flood issue that has plagued the Community.
Soludo who was received by the Community leaders, led by the Traditional ruler, Igwe Alex Onyido, gave the assurance on a visit to the flooded areas of the Ogidi community
The Governor addressing the people, attributed the severe flooding to the improper termination of the drainage system, stating that previous administrations had left much to be desired.
# Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), Nnamdi Azikiwe University branch Awka, Anambra State, have protest what they alleged as unjust disbursement of fifty billion naira meant for unions across Nigeria Universities.
The two unions including the SSANU Chairperson, Comrade Anthonia Chukwudi and NASU Chairman, Comrade Chukwugozie Ikegulu and it’s members marched through major roads in the university, wielding placards with various inscriptions such as; federal government pay us our two months salary, federal government release our N50 billion naira earned allowance, federal government should honour and implement the agreement it freely enter into with NASU and SSANU without further delay, renegotiate our 2009 agreement, pay us our 25%-35% salary arrears, release our 3rd party deduction of May/June 2022 salary, among others.
The protesters marched from the University’s Multi-purpose hall through to the Enugu-Onitsha expressway and ended at the administrative blocks of the varsity.
Speaking further with the press shortly after the protest, the NASU chairman, Comrade Chukwugozie Ikegulu, lamented that the N50b in contention released by the federal government to Universities-based unions after the 2022 nationwide strike was unjustly disbursement against them despite their huge contribution to the smooth running of universities in the country.
# The Managing Director of the Anambra State Civic and Social Reformation Office (ANCISRO), Sir Chuka Nnabuife, received a delegation from the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Center LSD) on a courtesy visit to his office in Awka.
Speaking, Sir. Nnabuife commended the initiative, expressing ANCISRO’s readiness to collaborate with credible civil society groups to promote responsible citizenship, transparency, and people-driven governance in Anambra.
The MD noted that civic education remains one of the core pillars of ANCISRO’s mandate under Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s administration, adding that such partnerships will greatly enhance the ongoing reformation of public mindset toward civic responsibility.
The visting team led by the Director of Strategy, Itia Otabor, came to explore areas of partnership with ANCISRO in advancing voter education and civic enlightenment across communities in the state.
According to Otabor, their goal is to jointly curb voter apathy and foster an environment where citizens take active part in the electoral process.
# The Chairman of Nnewi South LGA, Hon. Van George Ezeogidi, was in Ekwulumili, to officially flag off the drilling of a solar-powered borehole at Nkwo Market.
The project, attracted by Rt. Hon. Venantius Chidozie Okeke, Deputy Leader, Nnewi South Legislative Council and the Councillor representing Ekwulumili Ward in Nnewi South Legislative Council, brought delighted to the community.
Okeke in his remark said “I remain committed to attracting more people-oriented projects that will improve the living conditions of my people in Ekwulumili Ward and beyond.
# The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) RS5.36 Oraifite Unit Command has responded quickly to a distress call regarding the worsening condition of the erosion site in Ozubulu.
Following directives from the Sector Commander, the Unit Commander and her team took immediate action to alert road users and key stakeholders.
Corps Commander, Bridget Asekhaauno, the Sector Commander, emphasized the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of road users and preventing crashes.
According to a release by SRC. Margaret Onabe, Sector Public Education Officer,
FRSC Anambra State Command, the motoring public is urged to pay attention to the ongoing road development.
” They should cooperate with safety officers and drive cautiously, especially at the erosion site. Following these guidelines is essential for everyone’s safety’. Onabe stated.
# The Mayor of Njikoka LGA, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba, has described Chief Uche Anthony Anakor as a “big fish” whose entry into APGA is a great asset to the party, especially in Nimo and the entire Council area.
Speaking at the event, Ononiba
commended Chief Anakor’s decision to join the APGA family, calling it timely and impactful as the party intensifies efforts ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election.
Barr. Ononiba also urged all ndi Njikoka to vote massively for APGA to ensure the re-election of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
He emphasized the need for Njikoka to lead with the highest number of votes in the election, showcasing the LGA’s full support for the party and the Governor’s development agenda.
# The gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the forthcoming November 8th Anambra State Governorship Election, Mr. John Chuma Nwosu, has formally reaffirmed his commitment to serve for only one term if elected, by deposing to an affidavit to do so.
Nwosu personally visited the High Court in Awka, where he deposed to an affidavit pledging to govern Anambra State for just four years.
Speaking after signing the affidavit, Nwosu reiterated that leadership should not be about clinging to power, but about delivering results within a clear, focused timeframe.
# The Ogbogu Market, Bridge Head, Onitsha, Anambra State, has commissioned a 500KVA transformer to boost power supply within the market and its environs
The market had been witnessing epileptic power supply for a long period due to the collapse of their former transformer, which was worn out, and could no longer serve the market.
While commissioning the transformer at the market premises, Special Adviser to Governor Charles Soludo on Trade and Market, Chief Everistus Uba, commended the market for the feat they achieved, and said that it would benefit traders in the market and their customers.
In his speech, Caretaker Chairman of the market, Mr. Chukwuleta Ndubisi, said that the market procured the transformer because, it needs constant and quality electricity supply due to the nature of their business.
