* The Spiritual Head of Soul Revival Outreach in Nnewi, Anambra State, Prophet Ikechukwu Uzukwu, has condemned the recent attack on Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as a misdirected effort.
Prophet Uzukwu, speaking with journalists in Nnewi expressed his disappointment, stating that Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, seemed to have wasted his energy on a conflict with his own people rather than directing his strength towards more productive causes.
The prophet further warned Wike that political positions are temporary, and power shifts will eventually occur.
* The Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s recent broadcast on Local Government Autonomy and related matters.
Rt. Hon. Okoye described the Governor’s explanations as explicit and aligned with constitutional provisions and joint responsibilities of the Judiciary, Legislature, State, and Local Governments.
The Deputy Speaker praised Governor Soludo’s administration for its commitment to upholding constitutional provisions, particularly in signing the Anambra State Economic Planning and Development Bill, 2024, and Anambra State Local Government Administration Bill, 2024, into law.
He also applauded the State Lawmakers for their diligence in enacting the Local Government Administration Law and State Economic Planning and Development Law, noting that these laws will enhance development in council areas and improve living standards for rural dwellers.
* The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Milton Steel Manufacturing Company Limited and member representing Oyi constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Innocent Ojike has stressed on the need to raise awareness and increase understanding of the importance of standardization goods and services made available for public consumption.

The lawmaker emphasized on the need to discourage corrupt and fraudulent practices amongst manufacturers and producers and rather encourage robust cooperation from both public and private partners and the use of all available tools, including international standards and conformity assessment to produce efficient goods and services for the consuming community.
* The Senator representing Anambra Central, Senator Dr. Victor Umeh has commenced the drilling of a Solar-Powered Borehole with Overhead Tank at Uffa Village Aguluzigbo to address water scarcity in the area.
The 900 feet Borehole Project, which is in line with Senator Umeh’s effort at bringing succor to his senatorial district, is expected to provide the people of Uffa with steady access to potable drinking water.
A stakeholder of village, Hon. Chijioke Joseph Onyemechalu, while commending Senator Umeh, extolled him for his continued kind gesture to the people of Uffa and pledged that the community would make judicious use of the project when completed.
* Efforts to revitalize and reinvigorate the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State continues as the Sir Paul Chukwuma Primary Election Campaign Council approved the appointment of 326 Ward and 21 Local Government Area (LGA) Coordinators.
Additionally, 59 Cluster Supervisors were appointed, alongside a plan for securing new office spaces in all 21 LGAs and 326 Wards in the state. These strategic moves signal the Chukwuma campaign’s intent to secure widespread grassroots support ahead of the party’s primary election.
Addressing the directors at a council meeting, Director-General, Hon. Ifeanyi Ibezi urged team members to remain steadfast and dedicated as the campaign to secure the APC nomination for Sir Paul Chukwuma intensifies.
* The residents of New Generation Estate, Nkwelle Ezunaka, are elated as the member representing the good people of Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency, Hon. Maureen Gwacham, successfully installed a brand-new transformer for the community.
Hon. Gwacham’s action comes as a follow-up to the promise she made during her election campaign, which earned her the trust and support of the electorate.
Thus, the completion of this project underscores her dedication to improving the lives of her constituents and addressing the pressing infrastructural challenges in the entire constituency.
The residents of New Generation Estate, Nkwelle Ezunaka that had been grappling with prolonged periods of power failure, and today, their long-awaited prayers were answered through the timely intervention of Hon. Gwacham.
* Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, representing the Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, presented a petition on behalf of his constituent, Mr. Tochukwu Emeka Eweluzo of Idemili South.
The petition addressed the illegal sale of a property that had been bequeathed to Mr. Eweluzo by his late father.
Mr. Eweluzo, through his petition, is seeking restitution for the unlawful sale of his inheritance. He is appealing to the House to intervene and ensure justice is served.
Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo passionately presented the case, and the House, adopted the petition. It was subsequently referred to the House Committee on Public Petitions for further legislative review and action.
* The member representing Anambra East Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Obi Nweke has assured his constituents of effective and participatory democracy at all times.
Speaking in Awka, Nweke, a lawyer, said that his focus is to ensure that Ndi Anambra East enjoy full dividends of democracy which is why they elected him.
He extolled the mutual relationship that exists between the House and the State Executive, eulogizing Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s leadership style which he said has transformed the economic landscape of the state.
Hon. Nweke also urged the federal government to do everything humanly possible to ensure that his constituents who may be affected by this year’s flood are well taken care of to support the efforts of the state government.
* Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor has visited the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, in his office at Government House, Awka, to firm up the two ministries plan to embark on town hall tours of 21 LGs in the state to drive the message of Governor Soludo’s sterling achievements.
Speaking during the visit, Mefor recalled that he had earlier hinted to Nwabunwanne about the Information Ministry’s proposed Local Government Town Hall Tours to strategically communicate Governor Soludo’s several sterling achievements and was visiting with his team to work out modalities with the Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs counterpart.
According to him, he decided to visit the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs because of the urgency of the town hall tour and the need for the two ministries to collaborate to achieve the desired purpose.
Responding, Hon. Nwabunwanne commended the commissioner for doing so much within a short time, even as he reiterated his commitment to the idea and assured of his ministry’s interest.
* The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC) 2 programme has held a two day capacity building workshop on effective ways to communicate its interventions in Anambra State which are geared towards consolidating the rule of law and anti-corruption reforms through improved justice and anti-corruption systems that enhance social cohesion.
The RoLAC programme also seeks to enhance performance, quality and the oversight of the criminal justice system as well as of justice service delivery, while also improving access to justice for vulnerable women, children, juveniles, persons with disabilities and victims of sexual and gender based violence.
The programme funded by European and implemented by International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance, (IIDEA), is equally designed to increase transparency and accountability of anti-corruption systems and reforms.
Addressing participants, RoLAC Project Coordinator in Anambra State, Josephine Onah, explained that the workshop became imperative to arm participants drawn from law enforcement agencies, anti-corruption and justice sectors as well as civil society, media and relevant MDAs with requisite knowledge to effectively communicate the organization’s operations and activities in the area for positive outcome.
