* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has said that the incessant economic hardship that has continued to ravage Nigerians is surmountable with positive approach and rightful disposition by the leaders and the led.

In his message to Nigerians as they celebrate the 64th Independence Anniversary of the country, signed by Mr. Emma Madu, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Udeze paid glowing tribute to Nigeria’s founding fathers for their selfless service and sacrifice towards the growth and development of the country.

The Speaker called on Nigerians to sustain the good legacies which the foremost Nationalists and elder Statesmen bequeathed to them in order to enable their efforts and vision to endure.

He expressed the hope that Nigeria will be great and prosperous again and charged the people to see the peace, unity and development of the country as a collective responsibility.

* The Member Representing Oyi Constituency at the Anambra State House Of Assembly, Hon. Innocent Ojike has extended his warmest felicitation to the Oyi Local Government Chairman-elect, Hon. Emma Nweke, his Deputy and all the 15 wards councillors for their meritorious victory at Saturday, 28 September local government election.

In his congratulatory message, Hon Ojike who is also the Chairman House Committee On Trade, Commerce & Industry, stated that the victory of APGA candidates signifies that the good people of Oyi are indeed pleased with the Solution Agenda of the Prof. Chukwuma Soludo APGA led administration for his remarkable development and transformation drive across the entire communities in the State.

The lawmaker commended the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC), other electoral officers and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful election across all the polling units, noting that it is a positive and reassuring sign that the people’s united voice can only be heard and subsequently secured by a properly organized democratic process.

* The Managing Director/CEO of Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA), who is also the convener of Soludo Volunteer Force (SVF), Mr. Mike Ozoemena has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for implementation of new minimum wage and extension of free education to SS 3 in public schools in the State.

Mr. Ozoemena said that Governor Soludo has made the right to education to secondary schools a reality in the state, stating that it will ease the burden of parents at this present situation in the country.

He noted that Governor Soludo had earlier employed over 8,000 qualified teachers whereby competing with private schools in terms of quality education.

* The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), United Kingdom has conferred a fellowship award (Honoris Causa) on Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) scholar, Professor Joseph Ifeanyi Brian-D Adinma, for his immense contributions, dedication and achievements in supporting and advancing healthcare of women.

The award to Prof. Adinma was on the occasion of the special fellows and members ceremony of the professional body held at the RCOG’s new home domiciled at Union Street, London, United Kingdom.

In his response after the award, Prof. Adinma appreciated the honour and recognition to him from the RCOG amongst many medical academics in the globe.

The renowned scholar and fertility expert stated that the honour is a call to do more while promising not to relent in his contributions toward service to humanity and elevating the practice of medicine.

* Residents of riverine communities in Anambra State have been advised to make plans to move to the higher grounds for safety of lives and property.

The Director General National Orientation Agency, (NOA), Mallam Lanre Omilliu gave the advice when he visited Anambra State for flood safety sensitization programme.

Omilliu, represented by the Director Planning, Research and Strategy, Abuja, Nuru Kobi was accompanied by other top NOA Directors.

* Anambra State Commissioner For Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma has described Governor Chukwuma Soludo as a beacon of hope and a shining example of transformative leadership.

Engr. Okoma said Soludo has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the welfare of civil servants, people of the state and ushered in a new era of prosperity for the state.

The Commissioner said Soludo’s leadership philosophy is anchored on the belief that the welfare of civil servants is pivotal to the overall development of the state and has consequently prioritized their wellbeing.

* Solution Football Club of Anambra State has been drawn in Group A of the Southern Conference for the upcoming 2024-25 Nigeria National League (NNL) season scheduled to kick off on thirtieth November 2024.

The Anambra Club were seeded as Team six A in Group A and will play against Eight other Clubs such as Sporting Lagos, 1472 Football Club of Lagos, Warri Wolves of Delta State, Osun United, Madiba Football Club of Lagos, Dakkada Football Club of Akwa Ibom, Kun Khalifa Football Club of Owerri, Imo State and Gateway Football Club of Abeokuta.

In other pairings, Group B in the Southern Conference will feature Inter Lagos Football Club, First Bank Football Club of Lagos, Rovers Football Club of Cross River, Igbajo United of Osun, Smart City Football Club of Lagos, Edel Football Club of Anambra, Akpabio Football Club of Akwa Ibom, Abia Comets and Beyond Limits of Ogun among other group fixtures.

* The Dunukofia Mayor-elect, Bar. Chijioke C. Ozumba has poured a heartfelt commendation on Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for the conduct of Local Government elections in the State after about 12 years of running the Local Government administrations with Transition Committees.

Ozumba made the commendation shortly after his victory at the just LGA polls. He stated that Soludo has just in two years of administration done that which many viewed as impossible and did it better than every other previous Local Government elections in the country.

* The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA), Engineer Emeka-Konti Okonkwo have urged motorists and other members of the public to report any individual impersonating to be an officer of the agency.

Engr. Okonkwo gave the advice in a statement issued to newsmen recently, in which he also disclosed how to identify real officers of the Agency.

According to the MD of the agency, only individuals properly dressed in ARTMA uniforms as shown in the picture in this publication should be identified as officers

* The National Coordinator of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, has strongly denounced claims made by Chekwas Okorie, who falsely presented himself as the Board of Trustees (BOT) Chairman of APGA.

Obigwe stated that Okorie is not a member of APGA, let alone the BOT Chairman, and has a history of political opportunism, switching between parties, including founding the United Progressive Party (UPP) and later joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The statement accused Okorie of blackmailing Governor Soludo, describing it as a futile attempt to tarnish the governor’s reputation.
