# The State Chief Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor of Anambra State, Hon. Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour), has expressed confidence in the overwhelming support for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR in Nimo, particularly following the official endorsement by APGA Ward IV, Egbengwu.
Speaking during the endorsement rally, Hon. Chinedu Nwoye stated that he was not surprised by the gesture, recalling that Nimo was the first town to donate (twenty million naira) ₦20,000,000 to Soludo’s campaign organisation back in 2021; an early sign of unwavering loyalty and commitment.
Hon. Chindu Nwoye affirmed that APGA’s victory in Nimo is certain, appealing for a greater margin this time around for a resounding victory for Governor Soludo’s impressive performance across the state.
He emphasized that the people of Nimo have felt the impact of the “Solution Agenda” through key developmental projects and are ready to return the favour at the polls come November 8.
# The Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA) has joined the global community in commemorating the 2025 White Cane Campaign, an annual event aimed at promoting independence, accessibility, and public awareness for persons with visual impairment.
The 2025 edition with the theme; “Our Cane, Our Freedom,” held at All Saints’ Cathedral, Onitsha and brought together the Managing Director of ANSAA, Mr. Odili Ujubuonu; Chief Executive Officer of GUO Motors, Chief Godwin Okeke; representatives of Tiger Foods Limited, the National Association of Seadogs, and the National Association of the Blind, Anambra State Chapter.
Speaking during the ceremony, Mr. Ujubuonu appreciated ANSAA’s partners for their continuous support, noting that individuals and organisations who fulfill their ANSAA obligations are indirectly contributing to life-changing initiatives such as the White Cane Campaign.
He further explained that the initiative aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of building an inclusive Anambra where no citizen is left behind.
The National Association of the Blind, Anambra State Chapter, led by Mr Ernest Okammelu thanked ANSAA for consistently supporting their empowerment through the provision of assistive devices, while also commending Governor Soludo’s inclusive policies and partners’ continued collaboration with the blind community.
In their separate speeches, Chief Godwin Okeke of GUO Motors, alongside representatives of Tiger Foods, Romanchi Properties, and other partners, applauded ANSAA’s commitment to promoting inclusion and empowerment for persons with visual impairment, pledging continued support for future editions of the campaign.
A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of specially designed white canes with rotating tips, typewriters, and reams of A4 paper by Mr. Ujubuonu on behalf of ANSAA to assist members of the visually impaired community across the state.
Presentation of awards for humanitarian services by the National Association of the Blind, Anambra State Chapter, was part of the day’s highlights.
# It was a colourful and historic celebration in Anaocha LGA as the people gathered for the 2025 Anaocha Cultural Festival, themed “Culture Meets Innovation: Preserving Our Roots, Shaping Our Future.”
The event, held at the Council Headquarters, Neni attracted Governor Chukwuma Soludo, political leaders, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, and cultural enthusiasts from across the state.
The festival was also a platform for the people of Anaocha to reaffirm their total support and endorsement for Governor Soludo with a sum ₦50 million donation.
In his address, the Mayor of Anaocha Council, Honourable Rome Ibekwe, described the festival as a unifying celebration that reflects the rich cultural heritage and progressive spirit of the people while commending Governor Soludo for his visionary leadership and numerous developmental projects across Anambra State.
Hon. Ibekwe, who was also conferred with the chieftaincy title of “Ezeugo Neni” during the event, dedicated the honour to the good people of Anaocha and pledged to continue serving with humility, integrity, and commitment to community growth.
# The people of Dunukofia LGA have thrown their full weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his Deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim.
Dunukofia citizens collectively donated ₦211,638,700 to drive the Soludo/Ibezim 2025 campaign.
At the event, Governor Soludo commissioned the newly constructed Dunukofia Legislative Complex, a magnificent architectural masterpiece conceived and executed under the leadership of the Dunukofia Mayor, Barr. Chijioke C. Ozumba.
Barr. Ozumba also rewarded the 15 best-performing farmers across Dunukofia with ₦5 million in cash prizes and award certificates. an incentive designed to boost food production, agribusiness growth, and rural economic sustainability.
# Anambra State Government has reiterated its commitment at ensuring that all products manufactured in the state meet approved quality and safety standards of the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON).
This assurance was given by the Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, when he received a delegation from the SON in his office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.
Welcoming the team, Mr. Udechukwu commended SON for its relentless efforts in promoting standardization and quality assurance across Nigeria.
Udechukwu emphasized that the Prof. Chukwuma Soludo led administration is determined to make Made-in-Anambra products globally competitive by aligning them with both national and international standards.
The visit marks a significant step towards strengthening the partnership between the Anambra State Government and Standard Organization of Nigeria in enforcing standards, protecting consumers, developing the capacity of local manufacturers, and enhancing the competitiveness of locally made products.
# Emeka Ojukwu Centre For Research And Development is to host its 3rd international hybrid conference in Awka with the theme,”Quintuple Helix Model: Veritable Tool For Building Smart Environment, Innovative And Sustainable Economy.’
According to a Public Service Press release issued by the Director of the research centre, Prof. Vincent Okpala, the conference scheduled to commence on the 23rd of October 2025 with an opening ceremony and technical session at the Finotel hotels Awka.
The sub themes according to the release include application of artificial intelligence in the actualization of the quintuple model and in the disciplines of Agriculture, Environment and Materials Science, Research, Medicine, Traditional and Alternative Medicine, Economy and Governance.
It adds that the centre was born out of the need to promote indigenous technology bearing in mind that Nigeria as a country has abundant human and Materials resources needed to effect a techno-scientific change in an emerging economy.
# Director of Justice Development and Peace Caritas (JDPC), Nnewi, Rev. Fr. Benedict Chima Okolo, has urged fellows of the Anambra Local Government Accountability Fellowship (ALGAF) and citizens of the state to remain active participants in local governance and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
Fr. Okolo made the call during the ALGAF Monthly Leadership and Governance Workshop on Local Government Democratic Participation and Disability Rights Law.
According to Fr. Okolo, the initiative seeks to ensure that citizens are not distant from the workings of government.
# The Labour Party Governorship Candidate in Anambra State, Dr. George Moghalu alongside Mr. Peter Obi, attended the burial ceremony of Barr. Sommie Christelle Maduagwu, the late Arise TV journalist and presenter, held in Agulu, Anaocha LGA of Anambra State.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Moghalu described the late Sommie as a shining light in Nigeria’s media industry, celebrated for her brilliance, eloquence, and professionalism. He said she was a voice of integrity and courage who brought grace and excellence to journalism.
In his condolence message, Dr. Moghalu said that God left two things to Himself alone, birth and death, explaining that He determines both and takes permission from no one. He urged the Maduagwu family to take comfort in God’s will and in the beautiful legacy their daughter left behind, noting that though her life was brief, it was deeply impactful and inspiring.
