* Professor Chukwuma Soludo on Monday paid a visit to Nibo in Awka South local government area, Anambra State, where he condoled with the families and community over the unfortunate loss of lives in a recent cult rivalry killings.
Governor Soludo while speaking at Eke Market during his routine monitoring of Monday activities across the state, vowed to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act and go against cultism in the state.
While asking the people to go about their lawful duties, the Governor emphasized that no matter where the perpetrators hide, they will be brought out for sanctioning. He assured the people of their safety and general wellbeing.
* Traders at Oye-Agu Market Abagana and Eke Awka market, Awka, erupted in joy, singing solidarity songs for Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his free education policy as the Chairman, Anambra State Post Primary Schools Service Commission, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu takes Sensitization exercise to the areas.
During the exercise termed, “Catch-And -Send- Them- To -School-For-Free, Professor Ikediugwu, apprehended some child-hawkers and barrow pushers and took them to schools around the areas to get them registered.
Prof. Ikediugwu while handing over some of the students to Nnamdi Azikiwe Secondary School, Abagana, Kenneth Dike Secondary School and Ikwodiaku Primary School, Awka, charged the principals and headteachers to ensure that the students are registered free of charge and are always in school.
* Anambra State Police Command remains committed to the ongoing investigation and to arrest the perpetrators of the cult-related killings in Nibo on Sunday, which recorded many persons dead and others seriously injured and currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
According to a release by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer,
Anambra State, the Command also frown at the act of some deceased relatives to bury evidence, suppress information and disrupt the ongoing investigation.
Anambra Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, on Monday 21st October 2024, led Operatives to the scene on a spot assessment and Stated that the Command had redoubled its efforts to leave no stone unturned in hunting down the assailants.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor has received the organisers of the South East Business and Investment Summit (SEBIS 2024) at his office in Awka, where he stated that Governor Soludo had laid a solid foundation for the industrialisation of Anambra State.
Addressing the visitors, Mefor, who said he participated in the Investment Summit before he was appointed commissioner, assured the group that Anambra is a worthy partner in their project since the state is setting out to become an industrial hub.
He said the preoccupation of the summit had always been to make the South East the developed haven that its forebears like Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Dr. Michael Okpala dreamt of, adding that Governor Soludo has similar visions and is already laying a solid foundation for the industrial transformation of the state through the construction of durable stone base roads and other enablers such as water, power, among others.

Okpalaeke while speaking before handing over the project to the people of Umuezeinyi village said the constituency project is strategic and intentional.
According to the lawmaker, it will serve as a source of relief to our women selling at Oye Achina who constantly needs water.
In his remark, President General Of Achina community Mr. Anthony Ezenwaka while speaking commended Hon. Okpalaeke for fulfilling his promise. Ezenwaka who is also the Chairman of Civil Service Commission stated that this is a promised fulfilled. He thanked Okpalaeke for his quality representation.

The commissioner expressed happiness over the state’s consistence and championship abilities in infrastructural acquisitions and development in the Nigeria business space.

Dr. Law Mefor, Commissioner for Information Anambra State, in a press statement stated that the incident is another instance of the kind of violent crimes linked to cults that have occurred recently, and the state government is determined to put an end to it.
“The government sympathises with the families of the deceased and assures them that the government will get to the root of the incident and bring the perpetrators to book.
“To this end, the government appeals to members of the public to avail it of any useful information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, while assuring them of confidentiality and a handsome reward.
* The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, says business groups in Anambra can now be issued certificates for export within twenty-four hours.
The Deputy Director Enugu/Onitsha Port Inspection Directorate, Mrs. Uche Emekekwue disclosed during a seminar organized for industries and Small and Medium-scale Enterprises, SMEs in the state tagged “Accelerating Made-In Anambra by promoting, developing non-oil export”.
According to Mrs. Emekekwue, issuance of export approvals for all exports can be done within twenty-four hours of receipt of application.
