* The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor says the essence of Christianity is to prevent man from practicing Idolatry. In a sermon at St Luke’s Parish, Awa in Orumba North Local Government Area, during a dedication service of the new church building, Bishop Ezeofor regretted that despite the wide spread of churches, idol worship is still on increase. Right Reverend Ezeofor described exclusion from daily worship of God as the greatest sin a Christian will commit, saying that worshipping God faithfully with sacrifices attract more blessings and mercy.

* Anambra state government has held an interactive session with Ndi Anambra living in the United Kingdom. The event was held at the Council Chamber in the London Borough of Enfield and served as a platform for the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration to unveil its vision for a livable and prosperous homeland to them. The session was also targeted at fostering unity among Ndi Anambra resident in the United Kingdom. 

* The Anambra State Fishery and Aquaculture Business and Development Agency, FABDA, in collaboration with the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS has concluded arrangements to train 150 youths in the state as a part of ECOWAS’ strategy for youth employability in Agriculture and Food Sector. The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, FABDA, Mr Emeka Iloghalu, stated this while briefing newsmen shortly after an inaugural meeting between the agency and the participating youths held at the agency’s headquarters in Awka recently.

* Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, and the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Hon. Justice Onochie Anyachebelu are expected to attend the 2023 Press Week , Media summit and Anambra NUJ Man of The Year Award ceremony of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Anambra State Council in Awka on Thursday 2nd November 2023. The National Chairman, All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, is the Keynote Speaker. Ezeokenwa will speak on the theme “Pragmatic Media practice as an antidote to sustainable development in a distressed economy: A focus on Anambra State “. 

* The New Nigeria Political Party, NNPP, has vowed to take over Imo state in the November 11 gubernatorial election in the South East state. 

The party also said it has decided to forge ahead despite attempt to hijack it by some desperate politicians, adding that since it has been winning elections in batches in the past, winning the upcoming Imo guber election is assured. At the Southeast Zonal Executive Conference of the party held in Awka, Anambra State, the newly appointed Acting state Chairmen of the party were introduced to the zonal authority, the dissolution of the Kawu Ali-led National Working Committee, NWC, and the expulsion of the Kwankwaso and Kwankwasia support group reaffirmed. 

* Anambra State House of Assembly has paid a familiarization visit to the Ministry of Information and Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS).

Chairman House Committee on Information, Hon. Chuks Azotani while speaking at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Awka, said the 8th assembly will work together in synergy with the ministry. Hon. Azotani who is the member representing Dunukofia constituency commended the Commissioner for Information Sir Paul Nwosu and Managing Director of ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu and its team for their effort in disseminating the happenings of the state government down to the grassroots.

* Wife of former Kebbi State Governor and global cancer advocate, Mrs Zainab Bugudu has commended Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo for the great impact she has made on reorientating the culture of right health through the healthy living project. Mrs Bugudu stated this shortly after the Anambra Governor’s wife joined her NGO, Medicaid Cancer Foundation in walk to promote cancer awareness in Abuja.

The former Kebbi State Governor’s wife is a major voice in the support of cancer patients, promoting awareness about the disease, and driving community campaign for cancer in Nigeria.

* The Archbishop, Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim says the quest for earthly wealth and riches led many to sin against God and caused the society to lose its morals and strong values. Archbishop Ibezim said this at the Cathedral Church Of Saint Faith Awka during a service of confirmation of about 300 persons and admission of others into Women’s Guild and Christian Men’s  Fellowship of the Diocese Of Awka. Most Reverend Ibezim who is the Bishop of Awka Diocese and Dean of the Cathedral warned Christians who hide to commit different forms of atrocities without remembering that God is omniscient and omnipresent while asking them to repent of their wickedness.
