# The group under the auspices of Solution Queens Movement has thrown its weight behind Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s second term bid, praising his administration’s development strides and commitment to making Anambra State a prosperous homeland.
Speaking at a meeting in Awka with the group’s executives and 21 local government coordinators, Lady Ifeoma Rita Onyejekwe, Convener of the Solution Queens Movement, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration, citing his commitment to empowering women and youths through various initiatives.
She threw her weight behind his second-term bid, praising his leadership and vision for Anambra State, and noted that his administration’s focus on agriculture, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development aligns with the needs of the people, making him an ideal candidate for re-election.”
# Prince (Dr.) Nicholas Ukachukwu, Ikukuoma Ndi Igbo, the APC governorship candidate for the upcoming November 8th Anambra State election, was warmly received at St. Albert the Great Catholic Parish, Obosi, where he joined parishioners in worship and fellowship.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and admiration as the congregation welcomed him with heartfelt warmth.
During a brief interaction, Prince Ukachukwu emphasised the importance of inclusiveness across all religions and communities in Anambra State. # In a show of support and commitment to revamping reward system, the Member representing Awka South 1 State Constituency, Hon. Nigeria Mbachu , has donated a brand new Jeep to the State Chairman of the Labour Party, Hon. Chief Ugo Eme.
In a show of solidarity, the member representing Onitsha South 2 state constituency, Hon. Ifeanyi Umennajiego also extended his support by donating ₦300,000 to cover fueling and logistics for the brand new vehicle

# As momentum continues to build within the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of the 2025 general elections in Anambra State, Hon. Chinedu Nwoye, Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Chukwuma Soludo CFR, has warmly welcomed Chief Dr. Chris Anyakorah (Okofia III of Abagana) into the party.
The high-profile reception comes as Chief Anyakorah, a renowned academic, petroleum geologist, and community leader, officially joined the ruling party in Anambra, signaling his support for Governor Soludo’s administration and the APGA philosophy of grassroots governance and progressive development.

# Alumni of Christ the King College (CKC), Onitsha, 2005 set have showered their former teachers with awards and cash gifts in appreciation for their contributions to their lives during the occasion of 2025 World Teachers’ Day.
The Old Boys also donated a standard Table Tennis Board and a Sit-Up Abdominal Trainer worth about N1 million to their alma mater to promote students’ physical fitness.
The former students said it was their unique way to thank God and appreciate men and women who helped to shape their lives.

# Representatives of international universities converged on Awka, Anambra State, for the maiden edition of the Integral Development Konsult (IDK) Global Education Fair (IGEF 2025), themed “The Future of International Education in Nigeria: Unlocking Global University Opportunities for Nigerian Students.”
The event also marked the launching of the IDK University Pathways International Study Centre and the NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY) 2025, with educators, policymakers, top international university representatives, students, friends and partners in attendance.
The Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, in his speech, commended the CEO of IDK Group who is also his immediate younger sister, Mrs. Chinwe Nweke for her resilience and pursuit of a long-held vision and traced the birth of IDK to 1998 when she resigned from the federal civil service to establish the organisation.
He praised the UK International Foundation Year programme, which bridges the gap between students’ secondary education and university studies abroad saying that having it here in Awka, reduces the cost of studying in the UK and helps students mature before travelling as well as equips them with learning skills aligned with global university standards.
# The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has set up the Media and Publicity Committee for its 60th Anniversary.
SWAN Chairman, Anambra Chapter, Comrade Chimezie Anaso was appointed to head the seven man Diamond Jubilee Media Team at the celebration scheduled to hold between October 29 and October 31 in Abuja.
The appointment letter signed by Isaiah Benjamin and Ikenna Okonkwo, President and Secretary General of SWAN respectively, said the committee took effect from Oct. 6 and would continue after the anniversary as a standing committee.
“The Committee will also from time-to-time contribute to making SWAN Official Website to be robust with relevant information.
“Committee members are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions,” it said.
# Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, described IDK’s initiative as a solution to a long-standing problem faced by Nigerian youths seeking overseas education.
Chuma-Udeh while speaking said IDK is addressing a major challenge confronting Nigerian youths who desire foreign education pointing out how many have been duped or defrauded by unregulated agents.
Representing the CEO of NCUK- the University consortium based in the UK, the Client Success Manager, Roche Weyer, described the unveiling of the IDK University Pathways International Study Centre in Awka as the newest addition to NCUK’s global network adding that this launch reminds them of what collaboration can achieve.
