# The Minister of Youth and Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, on Tuesday, 7th October 2025, paid a brief but memorable visit to the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu, in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Olawande who was received by the NYSC Anambra State Coordinator Mrs. Pauline Ojisua, was in the state for an official project inspection.
The Youth Minister while interacting with corps members of the 2025 Batch B Stream two, said his trip would not have been complete without meeting the Corpers, describing them as “the pride and strength of the nation.”
Olawande commended the corps members for their discipline, patriotism, and dedication to national development through the NYSC scheme. He urged them to continue being exemplary ambassadors of unity and service wherever they are posted.

Governor Soludo recently in his address in Oba, Idemili South LGA, maintained that the court will decide the faith of Akwa Okuko.

Those were the words of the Traditional Ruler of Oba in Idemili South LGA, Igwe Augustine Emelobe, when he paid a courtesy visit to his Awka counterpart, Obi Gibson Nwosu, at his palace.
Speaking during the visit, Igwe Emelobe said his mission was to formally present himself as the new Traditional Ruler of Oba community to Obi Nwosu after receiving his certificate of recognition from the Anambra State Government.
He explained that it was important to build on the long-standing friendship and cultural ties that have united Oba and Awka for decades.
The monarch noted that he also came to seek guidance and share in the wealth of experience of Obi Nwosu, who has served his community with distinction and wisdom over the years.
In his response, Obi Nwosu commended Igwe Emelobe for beginning his reign with humility and respect, describing the gesture as a mark of true leadership and character. He said the visit shows the Oba monarch’s desire for peace and collaboration, assuring that Awka community will continue to strengthen its cordial relationship with Oba for the progress and unity of both towns and Anambra State at large.
# The second batch of the ECOWAS-sponsored youths training on the improved Fish Production Business System and Technology called Taenprowiz has commenced in Anambra State.
Two hundred youths under the ECOWAS Youth Employability Project (YEP),
between 18 and 35 years of age, are Nigerian Citizens and that of other ECOWAS countries.
The training process involving digital and manual documentation for the successfully selected trainees, after three months of rigorous processing of nominations, applications, candidates’ response collation and final shortlisting.
In his remark, the Managing Director and CEO of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Business Development Agency, (FABDA), Mr. Emeka Iloghalu said the training is critical in helping the youths understand the concept of Throughput, Inventory and Operating Expense in the Table Fish, Brood Stock and Seed Fish Production Business.
# The Anambra State House of Assembly on Tuesday October 7th 2025 confirmed a five-member committee to serve as the Chairman/Chief Executive Commissioner and Commissioners of the Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Their confirmation followed a letter sent to the House by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, requesting the screening and confirmation of the nominees.
Those confirmed include: Prof. Frank Okafor as the Chairman/Chief Executive Commissioner, while Engr. Geoffrey Nwokoye, Dr. Nnaemeka Ewelukwa, Engr. Nosike Emmanuel and Barr. Chijioke Obi were confirmed as Commissioners.
Speaking after the confirmation, Rt. Hon. Udeze, congratulated the newly confirmed members and urged them to discharge their duties diligently and in accordance with the law.
He emphasized the importance of the Commission in regulating electricity supply and ensuring efficient service delivery in the state, especially as Anambra advances its electricity sector reforms.
# Anambra State government says it will recruit more teachers soon before the November 8th governorship election.
Prof. Chukwuma Soludo who made the announcement at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka during this year’s World Teachers’ Day Celebration, stated that more teachers will be injected into the system on or before the gubernatorial election.
According to the Governor Soludo current basic statistics reveals that Anambra is leading due to fantastic job by the teachers, reaffirmed that the future of any society is dependent on quality of teachers and the quality of teaching, expressing the joy that different from what he met on assumption when public education was completely neglected and abandoned, public school enrolment has surged.
# As the November 8th 2025 Anambra gubernatorial election draw nearer, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), in Idemili South local government area, has welcomed major stakeholders from opposition parties with their supporters.
The defectors were formally received on Monday, 6th October, 2025, by Idemili South APGA Chairman, Chief Kizito Anoliefo.

Governor Soludo was speaking at the International Convention Centre, Awka during an endorsement rally by Association of Non-indigenes in Anambra State.
While stating that Anambra is living out the same principles of one state, one people, one agenda, Governor Soludo noted that the free education, free antenatal care and delivery services, among other policies, benefit everyone living in the state; irrespective of state of origin.
He advocated that wherever anyone lives should be their home, stressing that it is the duty of every citizen to vote, come November 8 2025, and assured that his administration is still at the introductory stage of developing Anambra.
