* Anambra State government says it cannot continue to fold its arms and allow Ndi Anambra to suffer as a result of poor condition of federal roads in the state. The Commissioner for Works, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma stated this while explaining the reason behind the various intervention works going on in many federal roads in the state.

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has performed the groundbreaking ceremony for Kojo Motors Auto Assembly and Natural Gas Facility in Umunya, Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra state. Performing the function, Governor Soludo said that it was a sign of progress for the state and a testament to the commitment of his administration to industrialization.

* Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo has explained that most of the problems faced by present society have remained unsolved largely because the values of love and compassion have been suppressed. Mrs. Soludo who stated this in Awka observed that if the world should embrace love, the aspirations for unified, progressive and peaceful community will begin to have tremendous effects.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Hon. ThankGod Anago has distributed relief materials donated by the Anambra State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to some communities affected by flood in the area. The Awka North Mayor who received a truck load of relief materials from (SEMA) thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the timely intervention as the distribution began at Ebenebe Civic Center before heading to Ugbenu, Ugbene and Awba Ofemili.

*Stakeholders at the just concluded twelfth annual national workshop and conference of the English Language Teachers Association of Nigeria, ELTAN, have called on policy-makers to carry English Language Teachers along while making policies that concern them. The workshop cum conference organized by ELTAN in conjunction with Department of English, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Igbariam took place at the university.

* All local internet companies known as Internet Service Providers, ISPs, and other local network operators, as well as all higher educational institutions, that provide one form of Internet service or the other in Anambra State, have been urged by the government to register with the State ICT Agency. In a press statement from the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ICT Agency, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, stated that the agency is looking to deepen its relationship with the ISPs and higher institutions, having underscored the crucial roles they play in the realization of the digitization vision of Mr Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR.

* Mrs Nonye Soludo, wife of the Governor of Anambra State has kicked off grassroots youth engagements for her non-governmental initiative, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo at Orumba South local government headquarters, Umunze. Addressing the youths, the governor’s wife and founder of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, said the plan is to visit youths in all the twenty-one local government areas of Anambra State, and push the advocacy to all corners of the state.

* Members of Alor Community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State under the aegis of Concerned Citizens have stated that the recent purported dethronement Of their Monarch, Mac Anthony Chinedu Okonkwo is allegations by the court. ANN recalls that the Anambra State Government through the office of the Honorable Attorney-General had ordered Mac Anthony Chinedu Okonkwo to stop parading himself as the traditional ruler of Alor or perform any function in the name of traditional ruler of Alor. But in a statement which was signed by the spokesperson for Concerned Citizens of Alor, Rev. Innocent Chukwudi Peace-Udochukwu, Chief Ben Udeze and Hon. Chris Okudo and made available to newsmen at Ezemo press center Awka, Anambra State.

* The Archdeacon, Adazi-Ani Archdeaconry and Vicar, Saint Jude’s Anglican Church, Venerable Chris Nkem-Okafor says prayers and praises are important in today’s society. Venerable Nkem-Okafor who stated this in a sermon during a Sunday service which is the first in the month of September with the theme,’ essence of prayers’ highlighted the importance of prayers as it is the answer to a successful life.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Foster Ihejiofor has called for the sustenance of all the investments made in Agriculture by the federal government. Ihejiofor made the call while playing host to the National Programme Coordinator, Federal Government of Nigeria /International Fund for Agricultural Development Value Chain Development Programme, FGN/IFAD VCDP, Dr. Fatima Aliyu, who visited him at his office at the state Agricultural Development Programme, ADP, office in Awka.
