* Anambra State Police Command has so far arraigned thirty three suspected cultists in court for sundry criminal charges in the wake of a new crackdown ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye. The suspected cultists who were arraigned in two batches of Nine and Twenty Four were charged with membership of unlawful societies; unlawful possession of firearms; Unlawful possession and use of hard drugs and other psychotropic substances.

* The National Coordinator Peter Obi Mandate Group ( POMAG), Rev. Innocent Chukwudi Peace-Udochukwu has urged his members to keep their hope firmly as the fight for what’s right is never easy and sometimes will face setbacks. He said that the fight for justice and fairness in Nigeria is bigger than any one election results and skewed judgement and it’s normal to feel discouraged and disheartened after a setback such as this, it’s important to remember that we have so much to look forward to.

* Anambra State commissioner of police, CP Aderemi Adeoye has said that five out of seven local government areas in Anambra South Senatorial Zone have been freed from the grip of insurgents. The commissioner who spoke to journalists in Awka at the weekend said the command is working to totally end terrorism in the state, but have been very tactical in the fight, to avoid what he described as collateral damage.

* The lawmaker representing Ihiala Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Paschal Arinzechukwu Agbodike, has urged Nigerians to embrace investment opportunities in Anambra State. Agbodike, said Anambra State remains the Light of the Nation and that the government of Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has helped tremendously to enhance the illumination especially with the signing of Memorandum of Understandings with various companies and investors to situate their businesses in the state and create jobs for the citizens.

* Anambra Keke Drivers Forum AKDF has demanded that one of its members whose Keke was detained for one week illegally must be compensated by the government. One, Mr Everest Mboto, a Keke driver was arrested and detained for no just cause, after he had paid his monthly taxi and other obligations to the state government.

* Family of Anambra State former governor, late Dr Chinwoke Mbadinuju has announced to hold his funeral procession on Friday, November 24th, 2023. Dr Chinwoke Clement Mbadinuju (Odera)
passed on the 11th of April 2023.

* It was indeed a special day for the Indigents and less privileged ones in Onitsha metropolis when Faithspiration family celebrated with them to commemorate the birthday of Blessed Virgin Mary. The event which took off from SS Peter & Paul ( Iba Pope) Catholic Church Awada Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State drew numerous members of Faithspiration family ranging from lay faithful, Seminarians, Priests, youths, adults amongst other who assisted in sharing goodies to the beggars in Onitsha metropolis.

* Some inmates of the Awka Correctional prison have regained freedom following the visit of the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Mrs. Uju Kennedy Ohanenye.
The Hon Minister disclosed this to newsmen in Awka after meeting All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders who organised a welcome ceremony for her. According to her, the inmates who could not meet their bail conditions were taken care of and plans are underway to ensure they are being empowered.

* Twelve students of the Centre for Disability and Special Needs Research (CENDASNER), Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State have been awarded scholarships by Telecommunication giants, MTN Foundation. This information was disclosed to reporters recently by the Head, Students’ Welfare of CENDASNER, Mrs Onyinyechi Amauche-Ogar.

* Anambra State Police Command has secured conviction of the two robbers arrested on the second Niger Bridge weeks ago. The robbers who were arrested with two daggers and five sim cards removed from phones of their victims pleaded guilty when arraigned in court.

* Anambra State Governor Prof. Charles Soludo has stated that his administration will demolish many properties in the state capital to get the Awka capital city of the people’s dreams.
Soludo stated this after participating in the monthly Solution Walk For Healthy Living held at the Anambra State stadium Awka.

* Men of Anambra State Police Command has rescued a kidnap victim, one Abuchi (Surname withheld) from Orumba South LGA of the State. Police Operatives while on Anti-Crime Patrol in Obosi at about 7.30p.m. were stopped by residents and informed about a kidnap incident. The public spirited citizens pointed the Police in the direction the kidnappers went after seizing their victim.
