* Investors have commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his efforts towards building an industrialized Anambra for sustainable economic growth and development. They were reacting to the outcome to last week’s Anambra Investment Summit, saying it will be a major game changer in protecting the future of the state through industrialization and productive economy.

* Justice Pete Obiora, a native of Nkpor in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, has been promoted to the Court of Appeal.
Before his elevation he was the administrative Judge of the Idemili Judicial Division of the Anambra Judiciary. He was appointed judge by former Governor Chris Ngige in 2002.

* The Catholic Priests of Adazi Region, Awka Diocese, has paid courtesy visit to the priests at the Awka Diocesan Priests Welfare home in Awka as a way of fraternization, support and encouragement. The occasion which is held annually by the priests of the three regions of the dioceses is aimed at paying homage to the old and retired priests, and offering financial support, foodstuffs and other items, for support and upkeep.

* National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Anambra State chapter has organized a free medical outreach at Awba Ofemmili, Awka North Local Government Area. Special Assistant on Security to the Governor Mr. Solomon Onwuemene while speaking at the event said Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is highly passionate about the health needs of Ndi Anambra.
Onwuemene stated that he was highly elated over the medical outreach given to his people and also thanked the association for a job well done.

* The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority Mr. Ossy Onuko says the recently held Anambra Investment Summit will trigger rapid economic development in the state. Mr. Onuko who disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in Awka, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for organizing the summit which he said is a step in the right direction towards the realization of the new Anambra envisaged by Governor Soludo.

* Youths at the Corps Cadet Youth Camp of the Salvation Army Imo Central Division, Nigeria Territory, have been tasked to develop more consciousness on critical thinking and problem solving skills for the say to day challenges. The three day youth camp with the theme – “Made to Advance in my Dream Seed” saw no fewer than three hundred young people in attendance.

* Students at Metallurgical Training Institute, Obosi in idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State have protested over flooding that has taken over the institution and paralysed both academic and non-academic activities. The President, SUG of the institution, Chigozie Onyenyili, who spoke to journalists at the school gate before the demonstration began said said students were awake all night because their hostels had been flooded while  the water covered their  rooms and destroyed property.

* Oko Community in Orumba North Local Government Area have organized a peaceful protest against the Federal Polytechnic, Oko.
The youths accused the management of the school of neglecting its Corporate Social Responsibility in relation to the ongoing recruitment processes at the institution. ANN reports that the youths march from Oko Civic Centre to the Polytechnic’s main entrance gate to express their dissatisfaction with the institution’s actions.

* Miss Uche Jovita Chigozirim, a 100 level student in the Department of medical laboratory, UNIZIK has been killed by a stray bullet from a gunshot. ANN gathered that that the shootings which was cult related, happened right infront of Somtoochukwu Lodge.

* The Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze says the Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, Most Rev Prosper Amah has continued to live up to the expectations of his bishopric in terms of advancement of the gospel as well as the growth and development of his diocese. Felicitating Bishop Amah on his fiftieth birthday, Rt.Hon.

Udeze extolled him for taking the work of God as a seriously assignment, adding that the Bishop has created an enabling environment for the entire people of Ogbaru and beyond to practise Christianity irrespective of different denominational affiliations through effective evangelism.

* Women from Nimo community in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State have protested against their traditional ruler, Igwe Max Ike Oliobi and the leadership of the community over alleged land grabbing. The women who said they would protest nude next time,if the matter was not handled conscientiously, accused the leadership of the community of land grabbing and high-handedness.
