* A man, Chinedu Ezeudu, a native of Ndi Ikpa village Ezinato community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State has been arrested for allegedly selling nude pictures and videos of a woman on social media. The man was accused of leaking the materials after attempts to get money from her through blackmail failed.

* TEC Engineering Company Nigeria Ltd, Engr. Xiao has pleaded with the government of Anambra State to return back to site for the reconstruction of Niger Bridge Head to Sokoto Road Junction as well as the channelization of Nwangene Stream to River Nigeria. ANN recall that in July this year, the Governor of Anambra State Prof Chukwuma Soludo terminated their contract after an unscheduled inspection, owing to slow pace of work, after which TEC Engineering Ltd has been having meetings with the Ministry of Works to synergize with the state government on possible amendments and way forward.
* Anambra State Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe has enjoined public and civil servants; whose children are from nine Months to five years to present them for vaccination against Polio variant type. In a release she personally signed, Barrister Igwegbe urged Public and civil servants within the state government employ to avail themselves of the opportunity provided by the World Health Organization, WHO, and Primary Health Care Development Agency by bringing their children to the Jerome Udorji State Secretariat complex in Awka for the immunization on Tuesday nineteenth September 2023.
* The Headteacher of Central School, Ekwulobia, Mrs Uzoma Umealakei has called on the Anambra State government to come to their aid as two of the storey buildings in the school premises are faulty and may collapse if nothing urgent is done. Mrs Umealakei who spoke to during monitoring of resumption of schools, said she was newly transfered to the school and since she came to the school, the teachers told her that the buildings have been shaky for a long time now.
* Traditional ruler of Isuaniocha Community in Awka North Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State, Igwe Mkpuora Ngini, has called for government’s timely intervention to save his life and restore peace in the community. ANN recalls that the Monarch was recently certified by the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo on 19th August 2023. Speaking with newsmen through a telephone interview on the wave of insecurity in the community, the monarch also sought deployment of security operatives to fish out those behind the attack.
* Chinelo Anadumaka, a native of Awgbu in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, has been arrested for subjecting her mother and her Late Brother’s Wife to different kinds of ill treatment. Chinelo, an officer of the Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade) has been accused of repeatedly beating, intimidating and harassing her aged mother, Maryrose Anadumaka.
* A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief Joe Igbokwe has said it will take the Igbo ethnic group over 20 years of hard work to produce the president of Nigeria. Igbokwe who also described Igbo people as ‘onlookers in the Nigerian project’, made this statement while responding to a barrage of criticisms directed at his comment on a Facebook post.
* The candidate of the Social Democratiic Party, SDP, for Awka North and South, Federal Constituency, Anambra State, in the last general elections, Prince Chinedu Ekwunife, has lambasted the Federal Government of Nigeria over the N5b set aside for palliative measures to each of the 36 governors of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, pointing out that the brand of democracy practiced in the country has no flavour. Prince Ekwunife made this position known at a Press Conference held in Awka recently where he noted that the ‘Gargantuan sum of money which amounted to N230 billion was a huge drain from the coffers of Nigeria’.
* The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Victor Umeh, has hailed the decision by the Labour Party’s (LP) Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, to appeal his case at the Supreme Court.
