* In view of the current insecurity and excruciating economic hardship in Nigeria, the Charismatic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), Anambra State chapter has called for synergy among relevant stakeholders in the State.
The conference said this would accelerate the pace for sustenance, consolidation and continuation of variable transformation that the State has been known for.
The State overseer of the clergy group, Archbishop Dr. Mike Chukwudum who spoke on preparation of the CBCN Synod 2024 told journalists that the current situation of insecurity and economic hardship in Nigeria demanded for all hands to be on deck.
* The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on Saturday September 21st held a mega rally ahead of the September 28th local government election at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, Anambra state.

on the significance of the event.
Prof. Soludo who is the National Leader of APGA stated that the aim of the campaign was to encourage party loyalists to go out and campaign, vote and be voted for during the upcoming local government election.
The Governor emphasized the importance of the grassroots elections, stating that it sets the direction for the development of the state.
* The Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Mr. Ossy Onuko, has pledged his full support for the upcoming Onye-Eze Football Tournament as part of his commitment to promote youth development through sports in Awka.
Mr. Onuko made this known during a courtesy visit by the organizers of the tournament at his office in Awka on September 20, 2024.
The Onye-Eze Football Championship will kick off on October 12, with the final match scheduled for December 29, 2024, at the Awka City Stadium.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Mr. Onuko emphasized the unifying power of sports. He noted that sports is one of the social activities capable of uniting enemies to become friends.
* The former lawmaker representing Njikoka in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Ozo George Okoye, has called on Charles Soludo to appease the gods of the land if he wants to stop insecurity in the state.
Okoye, while speaking in his hometown Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area, stated that Soludo’s failure to address insecurity makes him a failed governor.
He acknowledged that the government is performing well in infrastructural development, internally generated revenue (IGR), and education, but has woefully failed in security.
* The APGA Chairmanship candidate for Oyi local government, Hon Emmanuel Ikechukwu Nweke has assured that he would run a people oriented administration if elected as the local government Mayor in the forthcoming local government election.
Nweke made this known at Nteje when the Divine Mandate campaign train landed in Nteje wards 2, 3 and 4 in continuation of campaigns ahead of next Saturday’s LG poll.
Nweke noted education, health, infrastructure, agriculture & youth developments would top his core agenda if elected noting that he would consolidate on the solution agenda of the state governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo to ensure that ‘ndi’ Oyi, feel the impact of democracy dividends.
* Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor has described Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo as a true statesman who is not chasing clout and doesn’t depend on politics to make a living like core politicians.
Speaking while receiving the staff of Odenigbo 99.1FM, Obosi, Anambra State, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka, Dr Mefor explained that the governor has made money and name as a Central Bank Governor and other positions he held earlier.
“We need to join him in actualizing the dream of transforming the state. In this journey, the media is inevitable. No government in Nigeria has achieved what Soludo has achieved without borrowing a kobo,” the commissioner said.
* All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Sir. Paul Chukwuma has called on academics to bridge the gap between research and the industry.
Chukwuma, who is the Pro-Chancellor, Olivia University, Bujumbura, Burundi, while speaking at a hybrid conference organised by Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, said the university sector should lead the process of linking research with the industry in order to bring sustainable development in Nigeria.
Sir. Chukwuma while speaking at the event held at Unizik ASUU Secretariat with the theme ‘Governance and Sustainable Development in Africa: Issues and Strategic Options’ charged academics to become more innovative by linking research to the industry. He, however, urged the administration of the institution to tap the generous skills found in the institution.
* Professor Chukwuma Soludo has visited Maiduguri to commiserate with his Borno State counterpart, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, over the devastating floods that have ravaged the state.
The floods, caused by the collapse of the Alau Dam, have affected over one million individuals and displaced countless families.
Governor Soludo’s visit was aimed at showing solidarity with the people of Borno and assessing the humanitarian situation.
* The Joint Security Forces in a planned and coordinated operation busted a criminal camp in Lilu, Mbosi and Isseke areas of Ihaila, recover three unexploded improvised explosives, two abandoned vehicles, some explosives materials like copper wires, fuel and other dangerous materials.
Anambra Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam while charging the Operatives to sustain the tempo of the operations assures the good people of the state, the commitment of the Police and other Security agencies to continue to dominate and deny the criminal elements the space they enjoy to commit havoc in the State.

* Keke drivers on Saturday assembled in their large numbers and escorted Governor Chukwuma Soludo to Dr Alex Ekwueme Square Awka, venue of the mega rally of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the Twenty One (21) Local Government Areas Chairmanship and Councilorship candidates.
The Cordinator Anambra Keke Drivers Forum (AKDF) Comrade Osita Obi while speaking said they are endorsing all the candidates of APGA because of the achievements of Governor Soludo.
According to Comrade Obi, “Keke drivers will continue to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration because of his numerous achievements in Anambra State.
