* The National Association of the Deaf has stressed the need for learning of sign language by members of the society. They made the call during this year’s Annual General Meeting of the association hosted by Anambra State for South East Region. The weeklong meeting held at the Professor Kenneth Dike E-Library, Awka, drew members of the association from different parts of the country to deliberate on their activities and proffer ways to champion their interests and wellbeing.
* The Anambra State House of Assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the commissioner of education to encourage more technical education in schools. The member representing Anaocha two constituency Hon. Ejike Okechukwu the chief sponsor of the motion stated that technology drives the world and its breakthrough can be achieved majorly by encouraging young onces to learn technical subjects in schools. According to Hon. Okechukwu “Technical colleges are not many in Anambra state compare to other secondary schools.
* The Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s strategic engagements towards building a livable and prosperous Anambra State. Chief Obi-Okoye said the policy is not just timely given the hard times people are going through, but is also a game changer, as it will ensure that end the menace of out-of-school children in Anambra State.
* The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze has
charged the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to always contribute their quota to ensure good governance by coming up with ideas on how the legislature can serve the state better. Udeze stated that the eight assembly will patner NUJ Anambra State Council in enacting quality laws that will guarantee good governance of the state.
* The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Mr. ThankGod Anago has promised to develop football and other sporting activities across communities in the council area. Mr. Anago made the promise while playing host to the Chairman of Football Association, FA, in Awka North, Comrade Raphael Okafor at Achalla, the Headquarters of the council area. According to Mr. Anago, football has become a unifying sporting activity and a profession to many people as well as a great source of entertainment across the world.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed warm greetings and congratulations to all Muslim brothers and sisters in Anambra State and across Nigeria as they commemorate the blessed occasion of Eid-el Maulud, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Press Secretary Mr. Christian Aburime noted that this significant event holds great importance for Muslims worldwide, as it offers an opportunity for reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the teachings and principles exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
* Anambra State House of Assembly on Tuesday resumed plenary after one month of recess. Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze the Speaker of the house while welcoming members back, commended the staff for their dedecation to duty.
* Stakeholders and policy makers have been called upon to advance policies that will ensure institution have access to needed facilities for effective E-learning in Nigeria. This call was made during the 2023 national conference on e-learning for sustainable education in Nigeria, held at Nnamdi Azikwi University Awka. An Education Technologist with the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Professor Theresa Ofoegbu, who championed the call in her keynote speech at the 2023 national conference on “E-learning for sustainable education in contemporary Nigeria”, explained that with well organized e-learning, inclusive and equitable quality education can be achieved, and lifelong learning opportunities made available for all.
* The Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Nnobi, Idemmli South Council Area presided over by Chief Magistrate Ken Nwoye has adjourned to October thirteen 2023 the case between State Commissioner of Police and Chief Chijioke Okaa and Olufemi Salako. In continuation of hearing and testifying during cross examination by Counsel to the second Defendant Barrister Tochukwu Arugbuonye , the second prosecution witness, Miss Victoria Mbachu told the court that the second defendant Olufemi Salako brought the first defendant Chief Okaa to purchase a piece of land behind her house at the sum of two million naira and later tried to persuade her to sell to the first defendant the main compound with the part belonging to her grandfather which formed part of the entire compound on the condition that the first defendant will build a new house for her before taking over the property and deceived her to sign an agreement for the transaction.
