* The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Abba Ward 1 & 2 Executives and stakeholders meeting, convened by Hon. Jude Akpua PhD, Member representing Njikoka II Constituency and Deputy Majority Leader Anambra State House of Assembly was aimed to strengthen party cohesion, deepen APGA’s roots in Abba, and mobilize support for the forthcoming local government election.

Hon. Akpua PhD in his speech emphasized that APGA’s success hinges on party supremacy.

“Our collective interest must align with the party’s vision. The party should be above individual interests; let’s prioritize unity and loyalty. I charge you to hold the party tenaciously, ensuring APGA’s dominance in Abba.” Akpua said.

 

* The Fiscal Transparency Working Group (FTWG) of the Anambra state Open Government Partnership, (OGP SAP II), has again advocated for speedy transmission of Anambra State Audit bill to the State Legislature for passage into law, to boost the fight against corruption and ensure independence of the office of the Auditor General.

The group made the call during an advocacy visit to the state Commissioner for Finance, Mr Izuchukwu Okafor, as part of efforts to ensure fiscal transparency and accountability in the governance of the state in line with its commitments.

The Open Government Partnership (OGP) is a global initiative with four thematic areas, launched in 2011 to bring governments and Non-State Actors together to work in partnership to improve democratic accountability, enhance civic participation, and improve service delivery.

 

* Anambra House of Assembly Committee Chairman on Works and Infrastructure Hon. Emma Nwafor says the state is on a fast track to becoming an African version of Dubai -Taiwan, particularly in the area of road development.

Hon. Nwafor who is the member representing Orumba South Constituency
stated this when he led members of the Committee on an oversight visit to the ongoing dualiazation of road at Ekwulobia- Uga axis, Ajalli-Nawfija- Ufuma-Ogbunka road and Eziagu- Umunze bypass road

During the inspection, Nwafor who represents alongside members of his committee had a thorough check on the materials and construction standards, expressing confidence that Anambra State is evolving into a modern haven for its residents, due to the efforts of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

 

* The Member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Uchenna Okonkwo, has expressed his condolences to the Anambra State Police Command, ndi-Idemili South, and the Oba community over the recent attack by gunmen on the Oba Divisional Police Headquarters and Oba Civil Centre.

In his statement, Okonkwo emphasized that the security of lives and properties is the primary responsibility of the government. He urged the State Government to develop a strategic plan to address the security challenges facing Anambra State.

The lawmaker commended the Anambra State security architecture for their efforts in securing the state despite the challenges. He strongly condemned the attack and emphasized that dialogue remains the best approach to resolving issues.

 

* APGA candidate for Chairmanship of Njikoka LGA Barr. Chinedu Dominic Ononiba has reaffirm his commitment to delivering dividends of democracy to Njikoka if elected.

In his remark as the special guest at APGA Abba Ward 1 & 2 Executives and stakeholders meeting, convened by Hon. Jude Akpua PhD, Member representing Njikoka two Constituency and Deputy Majority Leader Anambra State House of Assembly, Barr. Ononiba expressed readiness to serve.

“I’m dedicated to serving Njikoka and ensuring APGA’s victory in the forthcoming local government election. The party unity is crucial for our success; let’s work together’. Ononiba said

 

* Governor Chukwuma Soludo has approved the appointment of Sir. Chuka Ikechukwu Nnabuife as the Managing Director of the Civic and Social Reformation Office.

This appointment is part of Soludo’s commitment to fostering civic responsibility, social reform, and cultural advancement in the state.

Sir. Nnabuife brings an impressive pedigree spanning over 35 years in journalism, media administration, and the arts.

 

* Anambra State House of Assembly’s Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters has pledged its full legislative support to the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) in advancing Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of transforming the state into a hub of prosperity and development.

The Committee Chairman, Hon. Patrick Udoba pledged the support when he led members of the committee on a familiarization visit to JAAC office at the Government House, Awka.

Hon. Udoba who also represents Anambra West Constituency, emphasized that the purpose of the visit was not to witch-hunt anyone but to foster collaboration.

* Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State has reassured increased visibility in the state targeted at reducing crashes and disobedience among motorists.

The Sector Commander, Joyce Alexander who gave the assurance on Thursday during a press briefing said her plans were to put road safety on the front burner for increased awareness and seamless enforcement for safer roads.

Commander Alexander while describing the media as critical stakeholders in road safety management, called for more collaboration for aggressive public sensitization and enlightenment.

 

* The APGA Candidate for Dunukofia Chairmanship position in the forthcoming LGA elections in the State, Hon. C. C. Ozumba Esq has hosted the Trainees Value Re-orientation Workshop for the recently launched Second Phase of 1 Youth 2 Skills Programme held at Dunukofia Local Government Secretariat, Ukpo.

Addressing the trainees at the event, Barr. Ozumba, who also represented the Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Patrick Agha Mba encouraged and motivated the over 300 trainees, pointing out that they should understand the core objectives of the program which includes putting an end to unemployment, restiveness, armed robbery, violence, kidnapping, touting, and all sorts of criminalities inherent in the youths.

” It is hoped that this program will raise smart and qualified entrepreneurs within the next six months, through apprenticeship, entrepreneurship, cooperative formation, business financing and mentoring”, he stated.

* The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District Chief Victor Umeh has awarded scholarships to 223 students from 58 communities in his constituency.

The scholarships, totaling N37 million, aim to support brilliant students who lack the financial means to pursue their education.

Speaking at the event, Senator Umeh expressed his joy in helping deserving students achieve their academic goals.

Umeh emphasized the importance of education in fighting ignorance, poverty, and distress.
