* The member representing Anambra East Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Obi Nweke says that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s unprecedented development in the state will help the All-Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to cruise to victory in the forthcoming September 28 local government election.

Nweke who made this known while speaking to newsmen noted that what Soludo has achieved in just two years in office is unparalleled in the history of the state, saying that it will be an added advantage for those who are contesting under APGA platform in the forthcoming election.

The Lawmaker explained that the aggressive construction of roads across the twenty-one local government areas of the state, building of five new General Hospitals in Anambra North Senatorial Zone, including Anambra East, renovation of primary healthcare centres in every political ward in the state, one youth two skills entrepreneurship and empowerment initiatives which has entered its second phase by Governor Soludo among numerous others are what places the party above others in the election.

* The Chairman of All Soludo Support Groups and Convener of Soludo Support Group, SSG, Mr Chinedu Nwoye, has said that the development projects, policies and programmes of Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration are known and felt by the masses, reason it’s easier to support the Governor.

Speaking at the inauguration of Solution Teachers Movement, a support group for the Soludo administration under Post Primary School Services Commission, PPSSC, Mr Nwoye, who is also the Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, charged the various Soludo support groups to ensure that they get down to the grassroots and translate their supports to votes.

He maintained that so far Governor Soludo, who has plans to expand the free education programme of his administration, has done more than people who stayed eight years in office as Governors.

* The Member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Hon. Afam Ogene as part of his youth empowerment initiatives, has trained 100 youths in renewable energy skills.

The three-day program, which commenced on Thursday, was organized in collaboration with the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA) and MODESCOM Solution Ltd.

Hon. Ogene, who also serves as Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Renewable Energy, stated that beneficiaries would receive start-up equipment, funding, and logistical support to help them establish careers in the field.

The lawmaker highlighted the importance of engaging the youth in meaningful ways to combat the high levels of unemployment and economic hardship in the country.

* The Anambra State Government has made a clarification that the exit of Mr. Chido Obidiegwu as the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) is just a routine redeployment and not a sack as being insinuated by some section of the media

According to a press release signed by Mr. Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, this clarification becomes necessary to correct wrong impressions being created in the minds of the public that Mr. Obidiegwu was sacked. He has only been redeployed and not sacked as erroneously being insinuated

Governor Chukwuma Soludo, recently approved the appointment of Mr. Christopher Osemedua Molokwu as the new Managing Director for ABS as part of ongoing reshuffling and rejigging of government operations

* Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed as flood submerged houses, factory and farmland at Ugwu Mkpume Layout Achalla Agu, Nkpor in Idemili North Council area.

The flood covering the whole environment comprising of factories and farmland.

Speaking in an interview, the Vice President, Ugwu Mkpume Achalla Agu Landlords’ Association, Mr Ifeanyi Oghota described the incident as unfortunate and lamented that the good intentions of the state government that was meant to bring them joy and happiness to them has turned to sorrow due to wrong channelling of flood

by the construction Company that handled the Road project at Inland doors Nkpor- Umuoji Road.

* A diabetes advocate, Lydia Okolie has called on the Federal Government to establish National Diabetes Center in Anambra State to aid people the treatment of diabetes mellitus .

Okolie, who is the Coordinator, Diabetes Advocacy for 2024 Nurses Week of students of College of Nursing Sciences, University On The Niger Teaching Hospital, Iyienu, Ogidi, made the appeal during the event.

Okolie said that Diabetes Mellitus which is a killer disease, is now rampant among people hence their decision to bring the sensitization to the grassroot to make people to be conscious of what they eat and the need for them to always go for a comprehensive health check .

Miss Okolie while thanking those who made donation towards the exercise, called for more partnership in raising awareness on the killer disease.

* A former member of the National Assembly who represented Anambra East and West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe has unveiled an instrumental organisation in the political landscape tagged “United Akaoma Ambassadors For Soludo 2025”.

Obidigwe while speaking at the event held
at his Aguleri county home, revealed that the group is aimed at promoting good governance and quality leadership of the APGA government in Anambra state led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo at the grassroots level especially as it regards the 2025 governorship election.

Chief Obidigwe equally ceased the medium to unveil his food palliative scheme distribution among the hundreds of APGA faithful, stakeholders and supporters of the party from the nooks and crannies of the 25 political wards in the Constituency

* The Chairmanship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi has distributed free petrol to over 200 keke riders in Nnobi as a way of cushioning the effect of hardship among the people

Hon. Obi while speaking said, the need to assist the hustling keke riders in Idemili South necessitated the free distribution of the fuel to the commercial riders who form the larger percentage of the state populations.

The Idemili South TC Chairman said she decided to reach out more to the keke riders who many are bread winners of their respective families because she feel their pain.

* The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka has described the One-Youth Two-Skills Initiative of the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo as the best empowerment programme you can find anywhere in the country, emphasizing that by the Governor is done engaging and exposing these youths to different skills there would be no tout on the streets of Anambra again.

The Council Boss who stated this during the Re-orientation exercise organized by the Ministry of Youth at Abatete Civic Centre, charged the new intakes not to toy with what he described as a rare opportunity, reminding them that their counterparts in other states of the federation are dire need of such opportunities, urging them not to take it for granted.

Hon. Nkwoka who is the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming Local Government election in Anambra State advised the trainees and intending ones to pay serious attention to their trainers and ensure that they learn all that they were supposed to learn, asking them to be committed and responsive towards the exercise.

* The Ajuluchukwu family in Ojoto, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state, whose mother was allegedly murdered by her step son, has returned to appreciate the state government for her timely intervention in their case.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr Onyebuchi Ajuluchukwu, accompanied by some relatives, thanked Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for coming to their rescue when they reported their case.

Mr. Ajuluchukwu said that the governor of Anambra State through the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare did not only come to their aide, but gave them security and made sure they have equal rights with other members of their community.
