* Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Parish, Nimo, in Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State, will soon become a centre of attraction as the Catholic Women’s Organization, CWO, of the parish has put in motion arrangements to construct an ultramodern podium befitting a 21st Century regional church headquarters in the parish. According to the President of the organization, Mrs Maureen Mbubah, the essence of the project, estimated to the cost 80 million Naira, is to give the parish a befitting look as regional headquarters and worthy edifice for God.
* The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Waste Management Authority, ASWAMA, Mr. Mike Ozoemena says the State is about to witness new wave of waste management that will entrench clean and green environment. Dr. Ozoemena disclosed this when a Port Harcourt based indigenous company, Boskel Nigeria Limited came to do a demonstration on how to turn waste to wealth in Awka.
* Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing Worldwide has dissociated itself from some inciting comments and propaganda made by one Igboayaka.O. Igboayaka and the so called Ohaneze Youth Council. In a press statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Maazi Chika Art Adiele
said that there is nothing like Ohanaeze Youth Council, and that the allegation that tens thousands of people were killed, detained or displaced only in Imo State, are unverifiable and capable of violent incitement; especially amongst the Youths and must not be tolerated under any guise.
* The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, COOUTH, Awka, Dr. Joe Akabuike has encouraged staff of the institution to embrace modern developments in patient management.
Speaking at an interactive session with the staff of the hospital where he enumerated successes recorded by the hospital in the last quarter of the year, including improved power supply, Dr. Akabuike explained that the manual mode of operation in the hospital are gradually giving way for the digital mode, adding that his administration is committed to ensuring sustainability in all positive ventures.
* President Nigeria Union Of Journalist (NUJ) Deacon Chris Isiguzo has commended Anambra state council under the leadership of Odugwu Emeka Odugwu for honouring veterans of the pen profession. Isiguzo who was represented by the South East Zonal Vice President, Sir Emmanuel Ifesinachi at the NUJ 2023 veterans and patrons day ceremony, urged members to give the union the maximum support it needs to keep the union afloat in the state and at the national level.
* The National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives Anambra State Council has begin her International Nurses’ Week with a view to prevailing on the Anambra State Government to improve on the welfare of nurses and accord them more attention. The weeklong event designed to celebrate the founder of modern nursing, late Florence Nightingale, will feature amongst numerous other things the dire need for the Anambra State Government to implement the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) for nurses to end dichotomy amongst health practitioners as well as prevent nurses from migrating to other states or countries for better working conditions.
* The Anambra State Coordinator, Nigeria Human Rights Commission, Barr Obinna Maduforo, has vowed to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that perpetrators of obnoxious practices against widows and defilement of teenage girls in the state end up in police net for prosecution with stiffer punishment. Maduforo gave the indication when the commission paid a courtesy visit to the State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Sir Joseph Uchendu, at the corporate headquarters of the agency in Awka.
* A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka, has urged Nigerians to reject the call for coup d’etat. Chidoka said Nigerians should resist any form of military intervention and fight for the deepening of democracy.

Rt. Hon Somtochukwu Udeze has expressed satisfaction with the level of development which the present administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo has recorded in the state.
Rt. Hon. Udeze while speaking to news men on Soludo’s quarterly programme on Anambra Broadcasting Service tilted “Chat with Mr. Governor”, called on politicians in the state irrespective of their political party affiliations to see the development of the state as a collective responsibility by giving maximum support to Governor Soludo’s administration at all times
* The Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide will on September 29, bestow posthumous honours on some Igbo heroes and special Igbo allies during the 2023 Igbo Day celebration. A release by Ohaneze’s national publicity secretary, Dr Alex Ogbonnia, gave the names of the recipients as Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe; Maj Gen Johnson Aguiyi Ironsi; Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu; Dr Alex Ekwueme.
