A series of dramatic late goals turned matches on their head in Europe’s club competitions Wednesday night, as Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen lost leads while Borussia Dortmund cruised to a strong win.
In Turin, Juventus were pegged back by Villarreal in a 2–2 draw after a last-minute equalizer. The Italian side looked set to win until Villarreal struck late to snatch a point.
Meanwhile, Leverkusen’s advantage proved short-lived as PSV Eindhoven rescued a draw. Despite leading earlier, Leverkusen could not hold on, with PSV showing resilience under pressure.
Borussia Dortmund, however, avoided any slip, securing a commanding 4–1 victory over Athletic Bilbao. Dortmund’s clinical performance highlighted their depth and consistency.
These results left Juventus and Leverkusen frustrated by squandered leads, while Dortmund reinforced their status as contenders in their competition.
