Unizik ASUU Chairman Receives Award Of Community Service From Rotary Club

Rotary Club of Awka ‘GRA’ has bestowed ‘Community Service Award of Excellence” to Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Chairman Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Comrade Stephen Uchenna Ufoaroh.

Speaking with reporters after the event, Ufoaroh commended the efforts of Rotary Club in touch lives of less priviledged through humanitarian services

“I feel happy that the little work am doing, people have seen it and appreciate me for that. This recognition will motivate me to do more through rendering service with the best of my ability. Am encouraged and challenged.

” Am encouraging Rotary Club to continue to touch lives through reaching out to the less priviledged.

“Humaniterian service is an agent of peace. If we can think of the less privilege and the unemployed, then we will be able to have peace.

” As chairman of ASUU in Unizik, we are giving scholarship to indigent students because we dont want school drop outs in the society.

” We should continue to preach the message of unity, peace, equality and taking care of the less privilege and i will support Rotary Club in this mission and vision through helping those that cannot help themselves”.

President, Rotary Club of Awka GRA, Rtn Ugo Benitez Ibeanu told reports that Comrade Stephen Uchenna Ufoaroh was chosen because of his selfless service to humanity.

“In Rotary we have board of directors and every year, we give awards to individuals who stand out after scrutinizing the suggested names.
Ufoaroh was awarded because he has impacted positively to the society.
