▪The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Prof Charles Esimone FAS, has set up what is widely commended as one of the most fundamental committees that should operate in Nigerian universities – “Sexual Harassment Committee”.
▪The UNIZIK Committee was inaugurated today 13/08/2021 amidst loud ovation for the VC for the relevance of the Committee and for its membership.
▪︎The 7-member Committee is chaired by Prof Carol Arinze-Umobi (Professor of Women and Minority Rights and Family Laws; immediate-past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration); Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor Legal).
▪︎Indeed, the relevance of this Committee is incontrovertible, particularly in a University like UNIZIK which is aiming for global all-round excellence through the current Esimone Administration’s “Project 200” – to make UNIZIK one of the best 200 universities globally.
