The United States is offering a reward of up to $20 million and possible relocation for information about Iran’s nuclear programme, the US military said on Friday, despite President Donald Trump’s claims that the programme has been obliterated.
US Central Command announced that the State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme “is offering a reward of up to $20 million and possible relocation for information about Iran’s nuclear program, including its facilities, equipment, and associated personnel, such as those in the scientific community.”
The programme urged anyone with relevant information to submit tips through its official channels.
The announcement comes amid long-standing international concerns over Iran’s nuclear activities. In 2025, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported that Iran was enriching uranium to 60 per cent purity, a level close to the 90 per cent purity required for a nuclear weapon.
The US and Israel launched strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in June 2025. Trump later described the sites as having been “completely and totally obliterated.” Subsequent assessments indicated the programme had been degraded rather than fully eliminated.
On 28 February 2026, the US and Israel launched a larger military campaign against Iran aimed at preventing Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. The operation escalated into a wider conflict after Iran retaliated, disrupting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and affecting oil prices.
