Vardy Reveals Ndidi, Iheanacho used ‘Juju Cream’ For Injuries at Leicester

Former Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has disclosed that Nigeria internationals Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho regularly sought traditional remedies from home to treat injuries during their time with the Premier League club.

Vardy recounted how the pair would travel back to Nigeria for short trips after picking up minor knocks. “They used to get injured. Little knocks, then go back to Nigeria for just one day. They come back with a nice big tub of juju cream,” he said.

The forward noted the cream’s exclusive use in the treatment process. “That was the only thing that the masseuse was allowed to apply to the injured area. They used to tell us that it had come from a Nigerian witch doctor,” Vardy added.

His comments have drawn attention to the players’ reliance on traditional Nigerian healing practices alongside conventional medical care at the club. Ndidi and Iheanacho were key figures for Leicester during Vardy’s tenure.
