VDM Vowing to ‘Show’ Sowore as BLord Legal Feud Shifts Focus

Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, sparked fresh drama in the Federal High Court on Monday, declaring his legal battle with businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika has shifted into a personal showdown with activist Omoyele Sowore.

During court proceedings in Abuja on April 27, Otse reportedly confronted Ifejirika, popularly known as BLord, claiming the case was no longer merely about their initial dispute but had become a “thing of pride” involving the former presidential candidate.

”It’s not about you anymore, BLord,” Otse was quoted as saying inside the courtroom. “It’s about Sowore. I want to show Sowore that he cannot do anything.”

The shift in tone follows the intervention of Sowore, who had previously pledged to use his influence to assist BLord. The businessman is facing allegations of impersonation and the unauthorized use of Otse’s identity, charges that saw him remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre.

Sowore had publicly criticized the proceedings, describing the case as a “weaponization of the law,” a move that appears to have provoked Otse into framing the continued prosecution as a matter of principle against external political influence.

BLord was arraigned on charges including criminal conspiracy and impersonation following a high-profile social media feud with Otse. The case has become a focal point for public debate regarding the intersection of social media influence, legal accountability, and political patronage in Nigeria.

Legal analysts say the public confrontation highlights the growing personal nature of the litigation, which has drawn hundreds of supporters to the court premises in the capital.

The court is expected to continue hearing testimonies as Otse insists that “justice cannot be overridden” by the influence of third parties. Further proceedings have been adjourned as the legal teams navigate the increasingly complex rivalry.
