Let’s start with introductions; May we know your name, your academic qualification, and what you do for a living?

My name is Nwankwo Chinazaekpere Loveth . I hail from Abia State. I graduated from Nnamdi Azikiwe University , Awka from the Department of Science Education. I’m a chemistry educationist . Right now, I run a brand, Everythingloolo which deals on sales of adult sex toys and sex therapy sessions.

Why did you choose to sell sex toys?

Well, even when I was still a student, I’ve sold many products ranging from female clothes, shoes, bags, waist trainers and the rest of them just to make ends meet. It’s quite obvious that the competition in the fashion industry is much. Half of everyone I know is into selling of fashion items. I thought to myself “What do people buy often but can’t easily access?”. I made some researches and came up with sex toys . Surprisingly, the statistics of people who order sex toys from foreign e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Alibaba are quite high. So I decided to bring the products closer and make it more accessible to people that need it.

 Do you think Nigerian women get enough sexual satisfaction?

Well, I think it’s an individual thing, not generally a “Nigerian woman” thing. From this part of the world, I don’t think we get enough sexual orientation. We have been modelled to see sex as a topic not to be discussed. The necessary things a man and his wife are supposed to know about sexual intimacy, they don’t know because they are shy to ask or even learn about them. In our society today, you see a situation where a man lives abroad and his wife is in Nigeria. They stay without intimacy for years which is not meant to be so. Even the couples living in Nigeria, the economy situation of the country makes a man to toil from morning to night, what strength does he have left to satisfy the sexual cravings of his wife at the end of the day? Same applies to the women. So I think sex toys are here to solve that problem.

Many think that when a woman uses sex toys, she will not need men again, what do you think?

I have seen a lot of comments like that and I must say that’s very wrong. Sex toys were invented to ENHANCE sexual life between a couple. Note the keyword “ENHANCE”. It’s not meant to replace a man. Couples use sex toys to spice up their sex life . So the notion of a woman not needing a man is not true.

 Is there any positive role getting constant sexual orgasms play in a woman’s life?

Sexual urge is a natural feeling. Same way we get the feeling of hunger for food, thirst for water and crave sleep, it’s the same way human beings feel the urge to have sexual intercourse. In essence, same way we feel when we are hungry and get fed, or when we are thirsty and drink water, that’s the same way a woman(a man inclusive) feel when she craves sexual intimacy and gets satisfied. Imagine feeling hungry and no food? Thirsty and no water ? That’s not a good feeling and you won’t function very well .

Do you think the use of sex toys will reduce unfaithfulness in relationships?

I really think so. Let me use the case of couples who live in different countries. We have seen or heard of cases where a man leaves his wife to travel abroad in search of greener pastures and stay years away from home. Most of these women can’t stay celibate for such periods of time and they resort to keeping small boys as sugar boys to satisfy their sexual cravings. This has ended a lot of marriages and broken a lot of homes.

So I ask men in diaspora, Would you mind your wives here in Nigeria using sex toys to take care of themselves till you return home or you will rather prefer them sleeping around? I can already guess what your answers are. So with this instance, I believe sex toys will reduce unfaithfulness in marriages or relationships especially long-distance ones.

 Can one use sex toys too much?

Just like in the case of drugs, people can misuse or abuse sex toys. You can’t control how people use these things. We can only educate them on the proper usage.

 Do you think sex toys will enhance relationships or diminish them?

Like I said, sex toys were invented to enhance sexual lives of people. So I think if used the right way it’s supposed to be used and not abused, it will enhance and spice up relationships .

 Should Christians use sex toys?

Okay, this question is a bit tricky. But I feel this question is equivalent to asking “Should Christians have sex”?

Sex is originally meant to be between a married couple according to the christian doctrine. So if christian married couples can have sex, I see nothing wrong in them getting a tool that can enhance their sexual lives.

How long have you been selling?How is the patronage so far? 

This is my 3 months now. I started in January.  Initially, I was scared of not making enough sales because of the way I see people react on social media to posts about sex toys. I decided to add ladies’ handbags and accessories to it to boost my sales. But surprisingly, I have sold more sex toys than any other item.
