Anthony Joshua has accepted to fight current world heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, in Cardiff on December 3, 2022.
After Joshua’s loss to Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia last month, Fury had challenged him to a fight.
In a statement, Joshua’s management announced that, “258 and Matchroom Boxing can confirm on behalf of Anthony Joshua that we accepted all terms presented by Fury for a fight on December 3.
“Due to the Queen’s passing, it was agreed to halt all communication. We are awaiting response”, the statement said.
In reaction to the statement, Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren tweeted: “Contract will be with you very soon.”
Joshua is set to earn £75million from the fight at the Principality Stadium in the Welsh capital city, following Fury’s 40 percent offer to him from the fight purse.
Fury had planned a fight against Usyk in December but the Ukrainian declined which made Fury turn his attention to Joshua.
