Works Committee Warns Contractors Against Substandard Work

Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has urged contractors and consultants handling various projects in the state to strictly adhere to project specifications, warning that any compromise in quality will not be tolerated.

The chairman of the committee, Engineer Emmanuel Nwafor who is also the member representing Orumba South Constituency, said this during the bilateral discussion between the Committee, Ministry of Works, project consultants, and contractors.

Engineer Nwafor emphasized the need for proactive measures to ensure the timely and proper execution of projects in State.

He noted there were several errors discovered in project execution during last years oversight and warned that if similar lapses were detected again, the House of Assembly would recommend termination of such contracts.

The lawmaker confirmed that Governor Soludo’ administration is committed to ensuring that infrastructural projects in Anambra State are delivered to the best standard for the benefit of the people.

He urged the Ministry of Works and project consultants to intensify supervision and ensure that contractors do not cut corners.
