WPHO Holds Summit, Empowerment Programme In Awka

Women of Patience and Help Organization, WPHO has held its women summit and youth empowerment programme at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka,

ANN gathered that the event was aimed at providing a platform for women and youths to foster acquisition of financial and leadership skills which will lead to personal growth.

Some of the topical areas covered by the summit and youth programme include career development, financial literacy, healthy lifestyle and mentorship. 

The Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Okoye in his address said women all over the world are the pillars of society, emphasizing that they are not not just epitome of beauty but also intelligent, hardworking, caring and supportive. 

The Chairman on the Occasion, Chief Ngozika Agudosi on his part maintained that the days when women are seen as mere house wives or when they are suppressed as a lot of women have made remarkable impacts in different areas of life while stating that they are adding their quota to the development of the society. 

In her welcome speech, the founder of the organization, Lady Adaeze Nwokoye explained that WPHO is a nonhovernmental organization founded on 29th January, 2013 and established with the core obligations of empowering women to educate, train and sponsor the less privileged women in the society.

Nwokoye encouraged women to discover and utilize their hidden potential in order to improve their lives stating that the programme will serve as a testament to the organization’s commitment to building a brighter future for women and youths in the state 

Speaking on the the summit, Regent of Nri, Prince Ikenna Onyeso said the event is not only an opportunity for personal growth but also a chance to be part of a broader movement dedicated to building a stronger and a more inclusive society.
