Former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has expressed strong interest in managing a national team in African or global tournaments such as the Africa Cup of Nations or World Cup, citing the need for more family time with his young children.
Xavi highlighted the appeal of international football. “My next step could be a national team. It would suit me and I want that,” he said.
He explained the lifestyle benefits. “I have family. A club wouldn’t allow me as much time with my family, I’ve got young children,” Xavi noted.
The Spaniard emphasised his ambition for major competitions. “I’m keen to take part as a coach in a World Cup, EURO, AFCON, an Asian Cup,” he added.
Xavi’s comments reflect a desire for roles that balance coaching at the highest level with personal life, following his successful but demanding stint at Barcelona.
