Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has been crowned LaLiga Player of the Season for 2025/26 after playing a pivotal role in Barcelona’s successful title-winning campaign.
The 18-year-old La Masia graduate scored 16 league goals and provided 11 assists under coach Hansi Flick, helping the Catalan club reclaim the Spanish championship.
Barcelona announced the award on Friday, praising the Spain international’s consistent brilliance.
“Another award for the talent of Lamine Yamal,” the club said in a statement.
“The La Masia forward’s wizardry is evident. Every match he brought dribbling, goals and assists,” it added.
Yamal’s standout season also saw him claim the Zarra Trophy jointly with teammate Ferran Torres for the highest goal tally by a Spanish player.
The recognition makes him the second consecutive Barcelona player to win the honour after Raphinha last season. Flick was named Coach of the Season while goalkeeper Joan Garcia picked up the Save of the Season award.
Widely regarded as one of world football’s brightest prospects, Yamal has cemented his status as a global star through his creativity, pace and clinical finishing.
