The Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Anambra State Chapter, has successfully elected Comrade Ezeani Chidubem Mayor as its new Speaker during the 4th Republic election.
The election, held at the Retreat Centre in Okpuno, Awka at the weekend witnessed the participation of over 250 youth leaders from the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Anambra State, who served as delegates.
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Ezeani Chidubem Mayor expressed his gratitude to the National YAN and the state executives for entrusting him with the leadership role.
Ezeani emphasized that his tenure as Speaker would focus on overseeing and managing the affairs of YAN in Anambra State, ensuring the active involvement of youth in the state’s developmental processes.

the election also saw the selection of other key leaders, including Ambassador Charles Ezeaniekwe as the Anambra State YAN Ambassador, Honorable Okey Ofobike as Deputy Speaker, Comrade Emeka Nwabude as Majority Leader, Comrade Mbaka Vivian as Minority Leader, Comrade Iwu Chinonso as Chief Whip, and Comrade Ukamaka Christiana as Deputy Minority Leader.
Additionally, various Local Government Areas elected their respective speakers, with notable appointments including Comrade Chigozie Anyabunsi as Speaker for Ogbaru LGA, Comrade Emmanuel Ezenagu for Awka South LGA, Comrade Chigozie Edison for Nnewi South, Mr. Ikechukwu Ezeh for Onitsha South, Honorable Victor Okafor for Orumba North, and Comrade Matthew Nwankwo for Ekwusigo LGA, among others.
The newly elected leadership is expected to steer the Anambra State Chapter of YAN towards greater youth to engagement and representation in the state’s political and social landscape.
