62 Graduands Of COOU Inducted Into Pharmacy Council

Sixty-two graduands of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), have been inducted into the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria. ANN reports

Administering oath on the graduands, the Registrar of Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, Pharmacist Ibrahim Ahmed, represented by Head of Department of Education and Training, Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, Dr. Anthony Idoko, urged the inductees to maintain high ethical conduct and leadership standards as well as endeavor to serve as examples for the achievement of excellence in the provision of quality pharmaceutical services for sustainable healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

Commissioner for education Anambra state Professor Chuma-udeh, represented by Director of Higher Education in the Ministry Mrs Oyibo Alor, in her speech said that the event is in line with the agenda of the Professor Chukwuma Soludo administration, emphasized that the governor is resolute in taking Anambra State school system to enviable heights, calling for the support of all.

ANN reports that the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Greg Nwakoby, in his address while congratulating the students, described the academic journey as rigorous but eventually successful. He encouraged the inductees to be good ambassadors of the university.

On his part, the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Theophine Akunne, who described the first ever induction ceremony of graduands of the faculty as another milestone in the history of the university, said with five years intensive training, the inductees have been given all it takes to go into the world and contribute to the healthcare needs in all areas of pharmacy practice.

The overall best graduating student, Pharmacist Chidera Dilibe, thanked all who contributed to their successful academic exercise, and promised, on behalf of others, to remain good ambassadors of the university.

The event, chaired by Pharmacist Bankole Ezebuilo, had the presence of the traditional ruler of Ogidi, Igwe Alex Onyido, among others with Pharmacist Valentine Okelu as Guest Speaker.
