* The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba North Local Government Area, Sir. Ogochukwu Ekwueme has performed the ground breaking ceremony of ward choose-your-project in Oko community. The event which took place at Eke Oko Market recently, attracted market union leaders, ward executives and other party faithful.

* Anambra State peace building and conflict management agency bill 2020 sponsored by the deputy majority leader Hon. Emeka Afforka will be considered and read for second time in the next plenary. Majority leader Rt. Hon. Pete Ibida moved the motion for the bill to be stepped down and was seconded by member representing Nnewi South 1 constituency Hon. Sonny Ozobialu.

* The students of Basden Memorial Special Education Centre (School for the Blind, Deaf and Dumb) in Isulo, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State have called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to provide the school with electricity. The students made the call recently while speaking with a concerned citizen, Ugochi Agalaba-Ehiahuruike, who recently embarked on a tour of the school.
According to them, the school lacks basic social amenities, such as electricity, potable water, to enhance their comfort in the school, both in the day time and at night.

* The Anambra State Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Magistrate court, has granted bail to relations of a widow from Umunankwo in Ogbaru Council area, who were arrested for allegedly ostracizing their widowed sister, Nneka Uzor. Their arrest was facilitated by the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo. The suspects, who are standing trial for allegedly using masquerade to force a widow, Mrs Nneka Uzor out of Umunankwo community, were recently arraigned on a five-count charge, before the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Court, Awka.

* Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has urged students to utilise the opportunity of the ongoing sports festival by participating actively. Soludo made this statement at the official opening ceremony of the First Solution School Sports Festival for Primary and Secondary schools held at the hall of the secretary to the state government in Awka on Thursday, May 25.

* Ndi Anambra have been urged to support the massive mandate given to Professor Chukwuma Soludo with payment of tax and other levies. Executive Director, Anambra Board of Internal Revenue Service, Dr Christian Mmadubuko made the appeal recently when he led the members of the enforcement team of the board, joint security personnel and others to seal off the Grafil Group Technology, Awka.

* Awka Capital Territory Development Authority recently installed eighty units of solar-powered street lights in some parts of Agulu Awka, in Awka South Local Government Area. Speaking in an interview, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Mr. Ossy Onuko said that the lights which were donated by a philanthropist, Chief Emmanuel Udezue – Okeatu, will not only enhance the aesthetics of the area, boost security but will also entrench nightlife which will increase the economic base of Anambra State.

* Christians have been charged to remain resolute in their resolve to follow Jesus Christ by being dedicated and energetic in prayers even as they pass through difficult times. The Ogbaru Diocesan Bishop, Right Reverend Prosper Amah gave the charge in his presidential address during the second session of the sixth Synod of Ogbaru Diocese at Basilica of St James the Great Cathedral Atani Ogbaru Local Government Area recently.

* Anambra State government has expressed readiness to provide affordable housing for workers and described housing as a cardinal point of the administration in the state. Governor Chukwuma Soludo gave the assurance in Awka recently while commissioning housing estates of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Nigerian Employees Consultative Association (NECA).

* Ndi Nnewi under the umbrella “Nnewi Concerned Citizens Vigilante” have inaugurated and equipped security personnel with high-tech gadgets as part of measures to strengthen security in the area. The initiative championed by the Senator Representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and other concerned citizens of Nnewi is to improve the security of lives and property of the people in line with the agenda of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration.
