Ndi Ngbo villages youth in Oba community, Idemili South local government area of Anambra State has innugurate the executives.
The event held at community school field, Umuogali Oba, attracted presidents and chairmen of all the villages and quarters in Ngbo Villages, their chiefs, youths, stakeholders and important personalities from across the state.
ANN gathered that the villages that made up Ndi Ngbo include Umuogali, Ogwugwu and Aboji.
President General Ngbo youths, Comrade Vincent Onochie Nwadinso in his speech thanked the youths of the community for finding him worthy to lead them, promising that he will do everything in his powers not to disappoint.
” I wish to express my profound gratitude to all the stackholders in making the inauguration a success. My primary goal is to harmonize the youths and also to promote unity in diversity amongst us.
“We promise to protect our heritage and ensure that the labour of our forefathers towards upholding the Mbgo union is preserved knowing fully well that if we relent in our bravely, then, we will live to regret the future for not standing brave to preserve and promote our heritage as Ndi Mgbo.”
Speaking during the inauguration, the Regent of Oba, Chief Noel Ezenwa thanked God for blessing Ndi Ngbo with natural endowments which they inherited from their forefathers and urged Ndi Ngbo Villages youths to keep the history alive.
Giving a brief history of Ngbo, the Prime Minister of Oba, Chief Boniface Onyeka who explained the hurdles they went through stated that Ngbo originated from their forefathers which served as a means of livelihood to majority of them and urged the Ndi Ngbo youths not to allow their identity and the natural blessings in that land to demnish or got lost in their hand.
In his address, the chairman Ndi Ngbo Villages Union, Nze Sunday Obinwa expressed gratitude to all stakeholders of Ngbo Villages Union for their support in making the inauguration a huge success and promised to protect their heritage as Ndi Ngbo and to ensure that the labours of their forefathers in upholding the Ngbo Union will never be in futility. He urged youths to support the newly inagurated executive stating that they soon, Ngbo security outfit will be formed.
B.O.T member Ngbo villages union, Dr. Augustine Aghasiefo in an interview encouraged youths of the community to tap from the natural resources in Ngbo such as fatching firewood, palmwine tapping, fishing etc.
” One of the reasons for this inauguration is to make sure that the youths are employed. If you go round the three villages, you will see more than three hundred buildings build by our fathers from the money they made from Ngbo but the youths abandoned it and indulge into illegal means of making money. Ngbo land has the potential of making our youths millioners. It is high time our youths are encouraged to go back there and earn a living.
