Anambra State House of Assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the commissioner For works and the Managing Director Anambra Roads Maintenance Agency (ARMA) to as a matter of urgency commence pallative work on the failed portion of Oba-Ichi-Okigwe road.
Majority leader Hon. Sylvester Ikenna Ofodem the chief sponsor of the motion said the failed road with a spur at Ichi town between Iche primary school bus stop and Iche girls secondary school bus stop needs urgent attention so as to forestall further lost of lives and property.


Ofodem who is the member representing Ekwusigo constituency expressed worries stating that a portion of the aforemation road has collapsed due to lack of maintenance, thereby increasing the sufferings of road users and life risk rate.
” From January 2023 till date, about four victims has lost their lives in the hands of unknown gunmen and over six persons kidnapped at the said failed spot of the said road.
” Cars and motorcycle snatching has become the order of the day and if no urgent pallative is carried out in the said potion of the road, more lives and proparties will be loss.
” I appreciate Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for the road projects currently going on in Anambra state but this road leading to Oba, Ojoto to Nnewi should be attended to”.
Member representing Njikoka constituency 2 Hon. Jude Akpua. Member representing Ogbaru One constituency Rt. Hon. Nobel Igwe. Member representing Anaocha 2 constituency, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu. Member representing Orumber North constituency, Hon. Paul Obu and the member representing Aguata one constituency, Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke while supporting the motion in their different submission urged Governor Soludo to intervene.
