*Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has pledged to continue to work with the Nigerian Navy to sustain his administration’s security efforts. Soludo gave the assurance when he received a delegation of the Nigerian Navy led by Rear Admiral Umar S.A. Chugali, Flag Officer Commanding, Central Naval Command. Recieving the delegation at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia Soludo thanked the Navy for their commitment to security in Anambra State. He particularly praised their efforts in combating oil bunkering and other criminal activities in Nigeria.
* The Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, the Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, says storms of life spur one to focus greatly in God and pray without ceasing. * The family of the Miss Chinyere Awuda, the lady who recently died in the Cosmila Hotel, Awka, Anambra, has called for justice, to enable the soul of their daughter and sister rest in peace. The family made the call while addressing with newsmen in Awka, during which they also gave their own explanation of what happened. Recall that the body of a lady, identified as Chinyere Awuda was found floating on an abandoned swimming pool of the Cosmila Hotel after she reportedly had some issues with a clubber who accused her of pilfering some money from the bag where he tied up the money he made from the show he hosted in the Cosmila club that night.

* Anambra State House of Assembly has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to direct the Managing Director of Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA) to commence palliative work on the failed portion at Oko bumbs along Ekwulobia -Oko-Ufuma-Umunze road. The member representing Orumba North constituency, Hon. Paul Chukwuka Obu who is the chief sponsor of the motion said that the condition of the road is very dis-heartning which has affected the students of Oko-polythecnic.
* The Bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese, Most Rev Paulinus Ezeokafor, has charged new priests of the diocese to appreciate God’s benevolence in choosing them to serve as his priests. Bishop Ezeokafor stated at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Awka, during the ordination of five priests that brought the number of priests in the diocese to 382. The new priests are, Rev. Fathers Paschal Idima (Amumara); Nelson Obiagba (Akwaeze); Mark Ikeh (Ifitedunu); Edwin Nwokoye (Awgbu) and Innocent Odilimuo (Agulu).
* The member representing Anambra West Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Patrick Obalum-Udoba has called on the elders and Stakeholders of the area to take ownership and protect all government facilities in the Constituency. Udoba was speaking while addressing the elders and stakeholders of the constituency at Umueze Anam.
* It was a bloody confrontation between rival cult groups the Baga and Aye, which resulted to a gruesome murder of one, today Wednesday July 26. ANN gathered that the victim, Igwe Omeli, believed to be a prominent figure in the Aye cult group, fell prey to the vicious assault carried out by the rival faction at the popular Eke Awka market in Anambra State.
* The National Chairman of Anambra Demand Soludo, Chief Jude Emecheta has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his efforts in building a digitally transformed, livable and prosperous Anambra State. Emecheta gave the commendation in Awka while having a meeting with the twenty-one Local Government coordinators of Anambra Demand Soludo, ADS.
* The Nigeria Union of Journalists has condemned the Anambra State Government for shutting down the Anambra State-owned National Light Newspapers without any reasonable excuses. The Chairman NUJ Anambra State Council, Dr. Emeka Odogwu, said this in Enugu while speaking to Journalists. He said that the latest move remained an open ill-treatment of journalists by the Gov. Chukwuma Soludo-led administration.
* The Archdeacon, Amawbia Archdeaconry and Vicar, Saint Peters Church, Amawbia, Venerable Vincent Nkemdilim says thanksgiving is an important and critical part of Christianity. Nkemdilim stated this in a sermon during a service with the theme’ The Power of Thanksgiving urged them to embrace it. He cited the book of Saint Paul who x-rayed the importance of thanksgiving and gives instructions on need to hold unto it together with prayers as a way of showing gratitude and love to God.
