Grammy-Award winner, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu better known as Burnaboy has berated the African music genre, Afrobeats as he describes it as nothing.
While many believe that Afrobeats is doing well as it is now a Global music genre when compare to before as artistes are now shutting down concerts in foreign countries, it’s on the contrary for Burnaboy as he asserts that the music genre has no substance.
According to Burnaboy, 90% of Nigerian and other African artistes have no real-life experiences as most of them talks about anything but only talks about having great time.
The “Ye” crooner added that Life is not always about having amazing and great times as he stressed that at some point you will have to face real life.
Speaking for himself, Burnaboy says that music is the essence of an artist and the artiste is the person who has good days, bad days, great days, and worst days.
