* Anambra State Head of service, Bar. Theodora Igwegbe says the retreat for executive appointees and members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, is a clear indication that Gov. Chukwuma Soludo places high premium on human capital development. Speaking on the significance of the retreat to socio economic development of Anambra State, Igwegbe maintained that the retreat apart from fostering a symbiotic relationship between the executive and legislature will sharpen the minds of the participants for effective service delivery.
* Governor Chukwuma Soludo says one can predict the future of any nation when a cursory look is taken at the quality of teachers and teaching.The Governor who was speaking during the 9th (7th Quadrennial) Conference of delegates of the Nigeria Union of Teachers in Awka, Anambra State emphasized that the nation is directionless without the services of teachers.
* The Anambra government says it would give the teeming youths in the markets the opportunity to explore career chances in sports.
The chairman of Anambra State Sports Development Commission, Chief Patrick-Estate Onyedum said this while inaugurating the Main Orgainising Committee of the maiden Anambra Traders Sports Championship in Awka.
* Ezumeri Progressive Union in association with Ezumeri Youth Wing Oraifite in Ekwusigo LGA has organized the first edition of the Youth Agenda, with the topic “Provoking Great Exploits in the Land” for youths in the community at the Umuafa hall Ezumeri, Oraifite. The President General of Ezumeri Progressive Union, Mr. Obiora Offoh said the programme was aimed at empowering their youths, help them to harness their talents and assist the vulnerable ones to achieve their targets in life.
* The chairman Anambra Internal Revenue Service Dr. Greg Ezeilo says the first objective of the agency is to make sure that every month, there is an adequate funding generated internally to be able to aid the projects and programs of government. Ezeilo while speaking with newsmen after appearing before Anambra State house of assembly committee on public accounts chaired by Hon. Nobel Igwe, said there is no system or entity that can function properly with targeted productivity without funding.
* The Nigeria Union of Journalists Anambra State Council has drawn the attention of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo to the plight and predicaments of children at the Basden Memorial Special School for the Blind at Isulo Orumba-south LGA. Anambra council of the NUJ in the communique of her August Congress signed by the Chairman, Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, raised the alarm on the dilapidated and deplorable condition of the school and called on corporate organisations including public spirited individuals to urgently respond to the situation in the school.
* Anambra State government has trained Heads of Department of Budget, Planning, Research, and Statistics across the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the State on reliable data sourcing and handed over brand new laptops in continuation of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision to equip the state workforce with digital tools. The presentation was made after the one-day training of the Budget, Planning, Research, and Statistics for departmental heads on how to effectively leverage technology for accurate and reliable data sourcing and processing measures.
* The entertainment industry in Anambra State has been advised to rally around the current administration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, to foster the realization of the government’s vision for the entertainment of the State. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Entertainment, Leisure, and Tourism, Sir Bob-Manuel Udokwu, made the call when the heads and representatives of the various groups under the entertainment industry in Anambra State visited him in Awka, the capital city of the State.
* Wife of the Governor of Anambra State Mrs Nonye Soludo says one of the aims of incorporating Basic Life Saving skills into her healthy living school club manual is to create awareness on common approaches towards emergencies and stop avoidable deaths that occur as a result of such actions. Mrs Soludo who explained this in Awka when she hosted the first batch of secondary school students on training for the Basic Life Saving skills, explained that most household emergencies have often led to fatal outcomes because people around do not have basic knowledge to tackle them on time.
* A dead and decomposing body of a herdsman, identified as Zakari Sale, has been found in a bush in Anambra State. The deceased was said to have been missing for some days before his decomposing body was eventually seen in a bush in Ukwulu Community in Dunokofia Local Government Area of the State. Addressing newsmen on the matter, the leader of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in the Southeast, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, said the deceased was was shot on the leg by suspected gunmen
