* The Anambra State commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo has urged ladies to desist from making nude videos of themselves. The commissioner urged them to resist such attempts by lovers who ask for nude videos as a confirmation of their love for them.

Obinabo stated this after the arrest of one Chinedu Ezeudu who was apprehended for selling the nude video of a lady he found in a lost smart card; on social media.

* The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Anambra State lead by Mr. Ifeatu Obiokoye has inaugurated and issued certificate of office to Local Government Area (LGA) Chairmen of the party at the regional headquarters Awka. APGA State Chairman Obiokoye urged them to be good ambassadors of the party. He called on the chairmen to hit the ground running through going down to the grassroot and spread the gospel of APGA. 

* The traditional ruler of Nnewi, Igwe Kenneth Orizu has flagged off Outbreak Response (OBR) Polio Immunization Campaign in Nnewi LGA of Anambra State. 98-year old Igwe Orizu who is believed to be the oldest traditional ruler in the state, through the flag off, expressed his support and readiness to ensure that polio is kept at zero level in Anambra State.

* The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has said that the strong and resolute voices of truth like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s are what are needed to inspire a new Nigeria.

Congratulating the internationally renowned author on her 2023 birthday anniversary, Obi, who described Adichie as “very dear sister”, also celebrated her for following the path of sincerity and integrity in her life’s journey, adding that Adichie’s courageous voice of truth has continued to resonate in Nigeria and beyond.

* It was a display of atavism at the weekend at the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) regional headquarters in Awka as the Idemili North Local Govt chairman of APGA, Hon. Obiora Samuel Chukwunulu, was allegedly beaten and assaulted like a common criminal by the security details of the state chairman of the party. The state chairman had inaugurated the LG chairmen of APGA in all the 21 local councils of the state at the regional office of the party at Awka.

* Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-udeh says that Miss Mmesoma Ejikeme, who was involved in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME-score inflation saga, is doing very well where she is undergoing therapy with state-appointed guidance counselor and psychologist. Giving update on the Mmesoma-JAMB matter after she received “African Jewel of Human Capital and Education Excellence” award from a Port Harcourt-based media organization, Professor Chuma-deh said relevant authorities will equally make a plea to JAMB to reconsider measures taken against Mmesoma, whom she said she has adopted, and shall not be abandoned to her fate.

* The Dean Faculty of Medicine Unizik Teaching Hospital Nnewi Campus Professor Gladys Ahaneku has called on the citizenry to work on the preservation of their hearts to enhance their longevity. Delivering her inaugural lecture the 90th of the university titled, “The Human Heart: A Workaholic With Numerous Saboteurs’, listed the cardinal saboteurs to include ignorance,poverty and underdevelopment.

* The MD of Anambra State Waste Management Authority (ASWAMA), Mr Mike Ozoemena has congratulated the Commissioner for economic planning and budget Ms Chiamaka Nnake on her recent appointment to oversee the Ministry of Finace following the resignation of Commissioner Ifeatu Onejeme. Ozoemena described Nnake as a professional who in a short stay have made giant strides.

* Anambra Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye has visited the family of the late ASP Anthony Ogobodo, who was killed in a motor accident last weekend by the driver of a shuttle bus.

Adeoye during the visit prayed that God should give them the fortitude to bear the loss and assured them that justice would be speedily dispensed on his tragic demise.

* The Department of Public Administration, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has honored the Chairman of Anambra State Sports Commission (ASSDC), Hon. Patrick Estate Onyedum with the “Excellent Leadership Service Award”. Onyedum received the award at the second edition of the Alumni Converge, an international conference organized by the department.

* Anambra State All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Youth Leader Hon Dr.Tochukwu Obiadi has interacted with Anaocha LGA youth leaders led by Hon Emodi Ojimmadu as he continue on his familiarization tour. The APGA Youth Leader of Anaocha LGA, Hon Ojimmadu with his ward Youth Leaders who were the host, commended Obiadi for his steadfastness in repositioning APGA youths in the state.
