Umueze Anam Oborodike Community has emerged overall winners at the all Anambra Communities Plastic Pick Up Challenge.
A sum of one million naira was presented to Umueze Anam Community by the Anambra State Government through the Office the Commissioner for Environment Hon. Felix Odimegwu
Okebo Umueri community in Anambra East L.G.A came 2nd Position and were rewarded with five hundred thousand (500,000) naira while
Ifite Ogwari in Ayamelum community in Anambra West L.G.A came 3rd position and took home two hundred thousand naira (200,000)
Commissioner For Environment Hon. Felix Odimegwu while recognizing the winners, stated that the maiden edition of plastic challenge succeded in mopping up thousand tonnes of plastic waste in the 186 communities
According to the commissioner, “The award and cash gift is a way of appreciating and encouraging all communities that participated, and to urge others to follow suit. The All Anambra mCommunities Plastic Pick-up Challenge has come to stay, and will surely be sustained in Anambra State”
“Just like the theme of the World clean up day 2023 says. “Let’s do it world…let’s us continue to do it Umunne m Ndi Anambra” Engr Odimegwu assured
Special recognition were given to individuals that performed exceedingly well too.
