* The Acting National Youth Leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth wing Worldwide, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu has advocated for measures for rehabilitation, reformation and reintegration of non-state actors in the Southeast region to bring back the economic viability of the zone as well as entrench a peaceful and secured environment. Speaking to newsmen, Maazi Okpalaezeukwu said that while the group condemn the non-state activities in the zone, the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo youths, are willing and committed to project a non-kinetic approach that will hinge on engagement of the youths, especially to rehabilitate, reform and reintegrate them into the society.

Speaking while receiving his August visitors, the APC National Chairman who was joined by four Governors of Kwara, Imo, Nasarawa, And Yobe together with all his NWC Members, commended the renewed hope of the APC in Anambra State.
* Oby Ezekwesili female hostel, Fire Station, NNPC International Center, Agric Road, Departments of Building’s Workshop and Laboratory, Environmental Sciences Technology, Vice Chancellor’s gate road and other federal government project sited at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has been commissioned. ANN reports that the UNIZIK Business School building was dedicated by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Esimone. Commissioning the hostel and other completed projects in the institution, a director in the Ministry of Education, Mrs Rekiyat Eliasu said it is very important to follow up on any project awarded under National Economic Empowerment And Development Strategy, (NEEDS).
* Comrade Chikwelu Adigwe have been re-elected as the President, Nigerian Union Of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Anambra State Chapter. Adigwe who has held the position for the first term of four years was returned for the second term at 8th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference held at NULGE State Secretariat in Awka.
* Anambra State Commissioner for women Affairs and Social Welfare Mrs. Ify Obinabo has called for a broader sensitisation of women on Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Nigeria as women and girls are mostly victims. ANN reports that the commissioner who received members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Women Committee Anambra State Chapter in her office in Awka said there was need to sensitize people on gender based violence. Mrs. Obinabo who spoke extensively on ill treatment meted on women advised parents to make out adequate time for their children while urging them to go back to the good old days of making inquiries before giving out their daughters in marriage.
* Grainseed Dealers Association Onitsha has held its annual Convention for the year 2023. The convention, which was held at the market secretariat, also doubles as the market end of the year party. In his opening remark, the market Chairman, Mr. Chijioke Okpala said the convention is an avenue for them to come together in the spirit of love and brotherhood to tackle pressing issues in the market, discuss the way forward, and appreciate God for the year.
* Members of Akwa Ibom Community in Anambra State celebrated their 2023 end of the year carnival and award ceremony. The celebrants were all adorned in various traditional attires depicting various constituent heads of their towns. The cultural carnival which took place at Dr Marcel Ofomata Villa, Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, attracted government functionaries, traditional rulers, indigenes of Akwa Ibom State living in Anambra State, including students’ associations from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and Federal Polytechnic, Oko, friends and well-wishers from Anambra State who trooped out.

* In order to constantly meet the spiritual needs of God’s flock in Ihiala Anglican Diocese and beyond, two ordinands have been ordained deacons and two deacons made priests by the Bishop of the Diocese, Right Reverend Professor Israel Okoye. Bishop Okoye also elevated and collated four priests of the diocese as Canons of the Cathedral and two others as Archdeacons.
In his sermon, the guest preacher and Anglican Bishop of Mbamili Diocese, Right Reverend Dr. Obiora Uzochukwu laid emphasis on the fact that everyone is called to God’s work of mystery at different levels and should not be left only for the ordained.
