* Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has distributed bags of rice and corn to the All Progressives Grand Alliance stakeholders in Ayamelum Local Government Area through the Transition Committee Chairman of the Council, Mr Livinus Onyenwe. Speaking during the exercise, Mr Onyenwe commended Governor Soludo saying that the initiative underscores the commitment of the Governor to prioritizing the well-being of citizens and ensuring that no one is left behind during this challenging times.

* The Director of Operations of Anambra State Anti-Tout Squad, otherwise known as SASA, Mr. Solomon Onwuemene has said that no amount of fake news, false alarms and sponsored protests against the agency will deter them from ridding the state of touts and other social vices.
Mr. Onwumene who spoke over the fake news in some sections of social media that officers of the agency brutalized some tricycle operators in Awka, noted that the report is the handiwork of those who do not wish the state well.

* Contrary to negative publications in some sections of the online media that traders in Awka counted their loses when operatives of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) embarked on enforcements recently to clean up the state capital of the mess generated by petty traders trading on the streets of Awka, ACTDA has said it would not renege in giving Awka a befitting status. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ACTDA, Hon. David Osita Onuko, while speaking in an interview, said ACTDA has issued several warning notices to people trading especially on the new dual carriage roads built by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo as such unpatriotic acts deface the state capital.

* The Joint Council of Provinces of the East of the Niger, Anglican Communion has performed the execution of the deed of transfer and handed over Paul University Awka to the Diocese of Awka for effective management. Paul University Awka, initially owned by the fifty-five Dioceses of the Anglican communion, East of the Niger following this hand over will now be owned and managed by the Diocese of Awka. However, the Institute of Theology will be reverted to its original status as St. Paul Theological College, Awka but will still be owned and managed by the Joint Council.

* Custodian of Culture and Tradition of Ojoto Town in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State known as Otu Omenani Ojoto Akanasato and pressure group known as the G-24 have called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo to forestall imminent breakdown of law and order allegedly caused by leadership of the town following alleged non-adherence to constitution of Ojoto Akanasato Union.

* The closed portion of the Amawbia axis of Enugu- Onitsha dual carriage road has been temporarily opened to traffic. The reconstruction work which is being carried out by MTN Telecommunication Limited, spans from Onitsha Bridge Head to 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Enugu. Speaking during a media briefing and opening ceremony at Amawbia, Anambra Commissioner for Transport, Mrs Patricia Igwebuike said that the state government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that the citizens are given the best of everything including access roads, and thanked MTN and Federal government for the development.

* Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has reiterated that women hold the key to Nigeria’s political and economic prosperity but have to work together to make it happen. Mrs Soludo stated this when women leaders of the party from states across the country visited her at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia. Addressing the party women, the governor’s wife praised them for leading transformational mobilization of women in the party in their respective states, and for showing leadership in their positions.

* Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency, (ARMA) took major intervention work on the Onitsha bound axis of the Onitsha Bridge Head road. Angel Network News reports that men of ARMA first cleared the affected portion immediately after the bridge, and primed it before laying asphalt. Speaking, the Managing Director, ARMA, Engineer Obinna Nduka said they were mandated by Governor Soludo to fix every pot hole from Bridge Head to Awka to enable Ndi Anambra coming home to enjoy safe and smooth ride to their respective communities.

* The Federal Government of Nigeria and the Anambra State Government in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development FGN/ANSG/IFAD Programme of Value Chain Development Programme VCDP are partnering with Financial Institutions to address Farmers’ need. This initiative was disclosed by the State Programme coordinator Mr. E. N. Agwuncha during the just concluded 2-day meeting workshop held in Awka.

Papa Soludo had a befitting and decent burial yesterday.

The Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo wrote in his Facebook page;

“I am grateful to God for his grace through this mourning period, as no time is ever the best to lose a loved one. We thank all our friends, colleagues and associates who joined us through this time. Particularly, I want to appreciate His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, who was represented by His Excellency the Vice President, Kashim Shettima GCON, for joining us in paying a deserving last respect to our Father. I thank the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu for his presence; my brother Governors who came around, serving and former members of the National Assembly; former Governors and all Ndi Anambra who joined us in this moment of grief.

I do not esteem their presence and contributions lightly. We will continue to live out the legacies my father has left behind. Even as I continue to pray that we all will experience the bliss of an old, fulfilled life.”
