Perfect perfume all day, every day is just a step away thanks to this clever tip.
Its creator has a master’s degree in perfumery and said her useful hack would make fragrance linger for much longer.
But first, ditch the Vaseline, said Josephine aka Jus de Rose (@jusderose).
It will not help your favored scent last any longer, she insisted.
This lady should know what she is talking about and her TikTok is devoted to her love of an excellent scent.
Her 340,000 followers on the platform would seem to agree.
She trained with the masters at ISIPCA, France’s premier school of perfumery founded by Guerlain in 1970.
In this post, her focus was on making scents continue to linger for longer.
“This is the easiest hack to make your perfume last all day,” she said.
“There is nothing more frustrating than finding a great-smelling perfume that is gone within 30 minutes of application,” she complained.
“So here’s a hack that will solve this problem.” But first, she had a friendly warning.
“And despite what everyone says, don’t use Vaseline. It is no good because it’s made of petroleum jelly which smells like oil and gas.”
Instead, she suggested applying “non-scented body lotion to clean dry skin.”
If you didn’t want to do that, she had another suggestion: “You can also use scented body lotion if you’re comfortable with the layering.
“Or you can apply the same scent as the fragrance you’ll be wearing.”
Either way, her next and final step was to spray her perfume over the body lotion.
“And there you have it. Your fragrance will last all day,” she beamed.
There was a huge response to her post, with over 591,000 likes and thousands of comments.
While some disagreed with her assertion that Vaseline stinks — many argued that it has no smell — several were excited about her suggestion.
One commenter was particularly struck: “This is a game changer for me.”
“I apply the perfume under my armpit directly. Lasts 24 hours and everyone says I smell fresh,” said another.
“Just spray your perfume on your clothes, that’s it,” said a third.
