Idemili South Council Boss Sponsors Free Medical Outreach

Driven by a deep-seated commitment to improve lives and the healthcare of her people, the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area Hon. Mrs. Amaka Obi has revealed why she sponsored free medical outreach.

Held at the council secretariat in Ojoto, Hon. Obi said the free medical outreach was in response to the prevailing health challenges and economic difficulties facing ndi Idemili South.

“My team and I launched a compassionate initiative: a free medical outreach for the resilient residents of Idemili South Local Government Area.

” Initially intending to assist 200 individuals, the response exceeded our expectations, with scores of people seeking aid for various ailments.

“It’s crucial to underscore the significance of such initiatives, particularly for the most vulnerable segments of society.

“Free medical outreach not only addresses immediate health needs but also underscores the principle of equity, ensuring that even the poorest among us receive the care and dignity they deserve.

“In doing so, we not only heal bodies but also nurture the fabric of our community, fostering resilience and solidarity in the face of adversity.

“This outreach aimed to alleviate the burdens of illness, particularly among the elderly and the less fortunate in our community.

“Our primary objective was to make healthcare accessible to all, irrespective of financial constraints.

Angel Network News gathered that the screening encompassed a range of conditions including skin disorders, respiratory infections, eye ailments, and provision of eyeglasses, alongside assessments for tuberculosis, hepatitis, and diabetes.

Complimentary medications were dispensed to participants, while those with severe cases received follow-up visits to ensure continued care, all at no expense to them.
