Legacy University Okija Holds 8th Matriculation Ceremony, Launch Radio Station

Legacy University Okija in Ihiala LGA, Anambra State has held its eighth matriculation ceremony for the new academic session, welcoming new students to the institution.

Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
Member representing Ihiala two Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Golden lloh in his address, commended Legacy University Okija for its commitment to excellence and community service, urging matriculating students to take their education serious in order to add value to their family and society at large.

The Pro-Chancellor of the University, Dr Leonard Nkameme during his keynote speech appreciated Governor Soludo for his unwavering support and commitment to the education sector which has brought growth to the institution.

Dr Nkameme also praised the parents of their students for their support, encouraging and urging them to support them more in order to sustain, enhance, and improve the university’s and make learning more conducive .

He also urged the students to take their studies serious and make use of their time to become a bright personality.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ezekiel Ihionu, during his speech, assured the parents and guardians that they will do everything in their power to provide their children with quality education through their financial support and prayer.

A matriculating student, Emmanuel Emelife said he is thrilled to be part of Legacy University and promised to work hard and make his family proud.

During the event, the University officially launched its community radio station, Legacy University Radio FM to provide a platform for students, staff, and members of the University community to share ideas, showcase talents, and stay informed; unveiled its part-time weekend programme to cater for working professionals and individuals seeking to further their education; and established the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences made up of Departments of Nursing, Public health, and Medical Laboratory Science to enhance the capacity of the University to train future healthcare professionals who will contribute significantly to the well-being of the society.
