Anambra State House of Assembly’s Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters has pledged its full legislative support to the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) in advancing Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of transforming the state into a hub of prosperity and development.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that the Committee Chairman, Hon. Patrick Udoba pledged the support when he led members of the committee on a familiarization visit to JAAC office at the Government House, Awka.
Hon. Udoba who also represents Anambra West Constituency, emphasized that the purpose of the visit was not to witch-hunt anyone but to foster collaboration.
The lawmaker expressed the committee’s readiness to partner with JAAC, address its challenges, and provide necessary legislative backing to ensure smooth operation of the committee in driving Anambra State forward.
In their contributions, the Majority Leader and member representing Ekwusigo Constituency, Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme, along with Hon. Noble Igwe representing Ogbaru Constituency One, and the member representing Orumba South Constituency, Hon. Emma Nwafor reiterated the committee’s openness to assist JAAC whenever required.
The lawmakers encouraged JAAC to actively seek legislative support whenever necessary, promising that the Assembly would always be ready to help.
In her response, the Senior Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Finance and Secretary, JAAC, Dr. Nneoma Mmuogbo, expressed appreciation to the Assembly’s Committee for their visit, assuring them of JAAC’s commitment to collaborate closely with the House to achieve efficiency in its operations.
Dr. Mmuogbo emphasized that with the legislative backing offered, JAAC would be better positioned to align with the Governor’s ambitious vision for Anambra State, particularly in managing and optimizing the state’s financial resources for local government administration.
