The Rotary Club of Awka Central, District 9142 has installed Mr Ekene Agubata as its president for 2024-2025 service year.
Angel Network News (ANN) reports that
the epoch making ceremony which held in Awka also featured induction of new members and presentation of awards to individuals who have impacted humanity positively.
In his acceptance speech after taking the oath of office and allegiance, Mr Agubata explained that within one year he will pilot the affairs of the club, he will execute community, economic development and youth empowerment projects, clean up services at different locations in Awka, arresting maternal and child mortality, among others; even as he urged all members of the club to give him all the necessary support he needs to succeed.
Earlier, in his valedictory speech, the immediate past president of the club,
Professor Chidozie Ezezue noted that the club succeeded under his leadership despite the challenges it faced and advised the new president to be deplomatic in his activities and service them with wisdom and humility in order to achieve his vision for the club, assuring that he is solidly behind him.
In his remarks, the President of Rotary Club of Awka, Dr Nwabufo Nwankwo said that Rotary Club of Awka Central made the right choice in Agubata as he has the capacity to take the club to greater heights.
Some of the awardees at the ceremony commended the charity works Rotary International renders to humanity, promised to continue to support their activities.
