The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Maku Olatunde has enjoined newly promoted officers in the state to remain steadfast in their loyalty, discipline, and unwavering commitment to their new roles and responsibilities.

Comdt. Maku gave the charge on Thursday during the symbolic
decoration ceremony held at the State Command Headquarters, Awka.
He extended warm congratulations to the newly promoted officers, whose well-deserved advancement was approved by the Civil Defence, Correctional Fire Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) adding that the promotion was a confirmation of their hard work, loyalty, dedication and commitment to the NSCDC in achieving its statutory core mandates.
The NSCDC state helmsman revealed that promotion comes with added responsibilities and urged them to be innovative to earn the respect of colleagues, friends and the populace in proffering solutions to contemporary security challenges.
He thanked Dr. Tunji Ojo, the Honourable Minister of Interior and the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi for graciously finding the officers worthy of elevation to the new ranks.
” I must not fail to tell you that promotion comes with a proportionate increase in responsibilities, therefore as you aspire for career progression take cognisance of the added duties and obligations that accompany such advancement” he said
In his goodwill message, Assistant Commandant General in charge of Zone K, Awka, Solomon Iyamu represented by Commandant Edwin Ugwuja encouraged the newly decorated officers to lead by example, inspire their subordinates, and work to justify the new ranks
In their separate remarks, the State Director of Security, Steve Ojelade and representative of Commanding Officer, Nigerian Navy Output Onitsha, Lt. Commander M.Buba congratulated the senior officers for a well deserved promotion, adding that the promotion was a confirmation of their hard work, loyalty, dedication and commitment to the NSCDC.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Deputy Commandant Udoh Justin on behalf of the newly promoted officer, thanked the Almighty God, the Board and the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, for finding them worthy to be promoted. He also expressed his gratitude to the State Commandant for his guidance, which helped them to attain the enviable position in their chosen career.
ANN gathered that among those promoted and decorated to the rank of Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC); are Ag. Head of Technical Services Department, Udoh Justin, 2i/c Admin department; Applonia Ezego, Head of Finance and Account; Rotifa Taiwo, Ogunjiofor Alexander, Safe School Coordinator; Cecilia Okoye -Iheme and Head of Disaster Management Unit; Nnadi Ngozi, among those promoted to Assistant Commandant of Corps, ( ACC) from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC) are the Officer in-Charge of VIP Protection unit , Ulasi Okwuchukwu and Aguojii Ifeanyi, Ag. Head of Anti-vandalism Squad.
Others included Timothy Ibenwa; Unit Commander, Chinua Achebe International Airport, promoted from the rank of Superintendent of Corps (SC) to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Corps (CSC).
Also decorated were the Commander, Tactical “S” Squad Chinenye Nwosu, and Head of Gender Unit; Sopuruchi Nwokeji, promoted from the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Corps (DSC) to the new rank of Superintendent of Corps (SC) among others.
