Anambra 2025 Budget, A Blueprint for Development : Lawmaker ‘Okechukwu’ Declares

The member representing Anaocha two constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Ejike Okechukwu has described the proposed 2025 budget of ₦607 billion as a progressive blueprint for the state’s development.

Okechukwu while speaking to journalists during a press briefing at the state legislative complex following the budget presentation by Governor Chukwuma Soludo,

The lawmaker commended the budget’s emphasis on capital projects, with 77% allocated to capital expenditure and 23% to recurrent expenditure, while highlighting that the budget prioritizes infrastructure and development to advance the state’s progress.

Okechukwu acknowledged marginal decreases in allocations for certain sectors compared to the 2024 budget, for instance, the budget for water resources dropped from ₦9.3 billion in 2024 to ₦8.3 billion in 2025, transportation from ₦5.6 billion to ₦4.1 billion, and environmental improvement from ₦4.3 billion to ₦3.9 billion.

He assured that these adjustments would be thoroughly reviewed during deliberations before the budget’s passage. He commended Governor Soludo for sustaining the hope of Ndi Anambra and delivering the dividends of democracy, expressing confidence that the administration’s vision of transforming Anambra into an “African Dubai-Taiwan” will become more evident by the end of 2025.
